Maryam Rajavi sends a message to the Amsterdam rally calling for democratic change and recognition of the NCRI’s provisional government.

In her message to the Iranian Resistance rally in Amsterdam on 22 March 2026, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), outlined a comprehensive political roadmap for Iran’s future, declaring that the ruling clerical regime has lost legitimacy and that the Iranian society is ready for fundamental change. She emphasized that the only viable path forward is regime change through the Iranian people and their organized resistance, rejecting both war and appeasement as failed approaches.

Mrs. Rajavi called for international recognition of the provisional government announced by the NCRI as a democratic alternative representing the sovereignty of the Iranian people. She stressed a future vision based on a democratic republic, separation of religion and state, gender equality, abolition of executions, and respect for human rights. She also highlighted the role of youth, women, and Resistance Units inside Iran as the driving force of change, and described the current moment as a historic turning point for the establishment of a free and non-nuclear Iran.

Maryam Rajavi: Recognize the Provisional Government Announced by the NCRI

Dear compatriots,
Dear friends from the Netherlands,
I salute all of you who have risen in defense of the people of Iran, carrying the banner of peace and freedom.
Happy Nowruz and Happy Eid al-Fitr to all dear Iranian compatriots!
You have begun the (Persian) year 1405 with demonstrations and a powerful spirit of freedom.
May this year become the year of victory for the brave people of Iran, a people who have fought for liberty for 120 years, and who now stand once again in the midst of another revolution: Iran’s democratic revolution.
As Massoud Rajavi, the Leader of the Iranian Resistance, said:
“This is a decisive moment, a night of destiny for the people and the homeland. At the same time, it is a test of all individuals and groups within the people’s front.”
May the dark era of tyranny, war, and destruction give way to an era of freedom, to the sovereignty of the people, and to a future defined by peace and liberty.

The Only Path to Freedom for Iran and Iranians

A century of oppression and injustice, under both the Shah and the mullahs, must come to an end.
For the dawn of freedom and the sovereignty of the people, for peace and freedom, the National Council of Resistance of Iran has put forward a provisional government, based on a Ten-Point Plan, to transfer power to the people of Iran.
This provisional government points the way: the only path to freedom for Iran and for Iranians.
A future in which tyrants no longer seize the people’s sovereignty under self-proclaimed titles like “Shadow of God” or “Caliph of God,” but where it is the people of Iran who determine their own destiny.
A future where Iranian women, through equal and active participation in political leadership, help build a free and open society; and where oppressed ethnic nationalities, Baluch, Kurd, Turkmen, and Arab, enjoy their rightful rights, joining hands with all compatriots to build a united, free, and prosperous country.
The message of the provisional government and of the Iranian people is clear: Dictatorship is dictatorship, whether enforced by the Revolutionary Guard or the Imperial Guard.
Fascism is fascism, religious or monarchical, whether proclaimed as “Only the Party of God” or “Long live the Shah.”

Increase the Pressure on the Clerical Regime to Free Political Prisoners

The hard-won experience of a century of struggle by the Iranian people has revealed a clear path: the establishment of a democratic republic founded on principles that will shape a free and just future;
from the separation of religion and state, to equality between women and men;
from autonomy for oppressed nationalities, to the abolition of the death penalty;
and a non-nuclear Iran living in peace and coexistence with the world.
Resistance units, now active across all provinces of Iran, are carrying out courageous operations against centers of repression, all in pursuit of victory for the provisional government and its democratic program: a government not to seize power, but to transfer it to the people of Iran.
At the end of an era in which four decades of appeasement toward Iran have led to disastrous results, it is time for European governments to adopt a new policy that stands with the people of Iran.

We call on them, and especially on the government of the Netherlands, to:
– Recognize the provisional government announced by the National Council of Resistance of Iran;
– Pressure the regime to release political prisoners and those detained during uprisings;
– Close the regime’s embassies and missions in their countries, and expel agents and operatives of the intelligence services and the Revolutionary Guard.

Long live freedom.
Long live the people of Iran.
Victory to the democratic revolution of Iran.
