Central Conflict Between Iranian People and Ruling Regime
Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the decisive conflict shaping Iran’s future is between its people and the ruling religious dictatorship, stating that ending repression, nuclear ambitions, and regional conflicts depends on the regime’s overthrow by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.
No Reform Possible Under Current System
She stated that the system of Velayat-e Faqih remains unchanged and incapable of reform, asserting that the regime will not abandon its nuclear program or regional proxy network and relies on repression for survival.
Regime Weakened by Internal Uprisings
Mrs. Rajavi said the regime is at its weakest point following a nationwide uprising in January, adding that authorities view internal dissent and organized resistance—not external war—as the main threat to their survival.
Growing Role of Organized Resistance
She highlighted the increasing activities of Resistance Units, noting their role in protests and operations against regime institutions, including attacks on key state centers and the presence of Liberation Army units in Tehran.
Announcement of Provisional Government
Mrs. Rajavi referenced the February 28, 2026 announcement of a provisional government by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, tasked with organizing free elections within six months after the regime’s overthrow.
Call for Free Elections Under UN Supervision
She challenged claims of mass support for the regime, calling for free elections under United Nations supervision based on popular sovereignty.
Emphasis on Peace and Democratic Change
Mrs. Rajavi stated that the Iranian Resistance supports peace and welcomed a ceasefire, while stressing that lasting peace requires the establishment of a democratic republic through regime change.
Rising Executions and Human Rights Violations
She reported recent executions of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and protesters, warning of increasing executions, torture, and death sentences against political prisoners.
Criticism of European Silence
Mrs. Rajavi criticized the silence of European Union leaders regarding executions, calling it unjustifiable and urging urgent action to prevent further killings.
Warning Against “Fabricated Alternatives”
She warned against efforts to promote a return to monarchy, stating such narratives are based on misinformation and only serve to prolong the current regime’s rule.
Outline of Democratic Alternative
Mrs. Rajavi described the Iranian Resistance’s vision, including a democratic republic, separation of religion and state, equal rights for women, minority protections, and a peaceful transfer of power after regime change.
