Maryam Rajavi’s May Day message highlights workers’ suffering, condemns repression, and calls for unity toward a new order based on justice and human dignity.

In a message marking International Workers’ Day, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), addressed workers, laborers, and people of modest means, emphasizing that the ultimate solution to their hardships lies in revolution and the establishment of a democratic republic.

Tribute to Workers and Recognition of Struggles

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi extended her congratulations to workers despite what she described as widespread hardship and injustice under the ruling system. She addressed working men and women as courageous individuals who have increasingly turned toward resistance and organized opposition as a path forward.

Her message portrayed workers as central figures in the struggle for change, highlighting their resilience and determination in the face of mounting economic and social pressures.

Condemnation of Executions and Repression

Mrs. Rajavi drew attention to the execution of workers and activists, including Mohammad Masoum-Shahi, a technical worker and member of the opposition, who was executed on April 20. She also referred to Ali-Akbar Daneshvarkar, who was executed earlier for his efforts toward freedom.

She described these executions as part of a broader pattern of repression targeting workers and dissenters, noting that many workers had participated in protests and uprisings, with some losing their lives or facing imprisonment. She also highlighted the role of nurses who assisted the injured during protests and faced severe consequences.

Economic Hardship and Social Injustice

In her message, Mrs. Rajavi outlined the worsening economic conditions faced by workers, including job losses, delayed wages, and rising inflation. She stated that restrictive measures, including limitations on internet access, have forced businesses to close and deprived many of their livelihoods.

She argued that these policies have deepened poverty, leaving many families struggling to meet basic needs, while also fueling growing public anger that could eventually lead to broader unrest.

Systematic Exploitation of Workers

Mrs. Rajavi described what she characterized as decades of systemic exploitation, asserting that national resources have been directed toward military and strategic projects at the expense of workers’ welfare.

She stated that workers have been subjected to harsh labor conditions, lack of job security, and denial of fundamental rights, including the ability to form independent unions. She also highlighted unsafe working environments and exploitative labor practices that have left workers vulnerable.

Special emphasis was placed on the condition of women workers, who, according to Mrs. Rajavi, face multiple layers of inequality, including limited job opportunities and wage disparities. She also pointed to the rise in child labor and the lack of social protections for millions of workers.

Call for Revolution and Democratic Republic

Mrs. Rajavi concluded that the current conditions are no longer sustainable, arguing that only a fundamental political transformation can address the deep-rooted crises facing workers.

She called for the establishment of a democratic republic that rejects all forms of dictatorship and is founded on justice and human dignity. She linked the struggle of workers to a broader movement for freedom, peace, and equality.

Appeal for Unity and Organized Resistance

In closing, Mrs. Rajavi urged workers from all sectors—including laborers, farmers, and unemployed individuals—to join organized resistance efforts. She emphasized the importance of collective action and preparation for an uprising aimed at bringing about systemic change.

Her message framed unity and continued resistance as essential steps toward achieving a future defined by freedom, justice, and dignity for all.
