Lord Mark McInnes: Distinguished guests, dear friends from Ashraf, and of course Madame Rajavi, I’m honored to be here today because this is an important conference on Iran and the future of stability in the region and across the world. It is the first time that I’ve visited Albania.
Lord Mark McInnes: I have already visited Madame Rajavi’s grand gatherings in Paris. But what is clear today and from then is the genuine enthusiasm and hunger of everyone here to ensure a democratic and pluralistic Iran once more.
Lord Mark McInnes: The great privilege of yesterday was being able to hear firsthand the testimony of those who have suffered at the hands of the brutal Iranian regime. And now as we see with hundreds of demonstrations, thousands of demonstrations across 500 cities in Iran, we can see the Iranian people are ready for real change.
Lord Mark McInnes: And the crucial reason for that hunger for real change is the illegitimate actions of the Iranian state in sponsoring world terrorism and of the actions of the IRGC. It is incumbent, ladies and gentlemen, upon all o us from the UK and the EU to work as hard as we can to ensure that evil organization is proscribed in the West and no longer do the Iranian people suffer because of its illegitimate international aims.
