Belgium, Brussels—October 21, 2022: Supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) staged a large demonstration in front of the European Union summit in solidarity with the Iranian people’s uprising.
The demonstration of freedom-loving Iranians began with the singing of the Iranian national anthem.
Abolghassem Rezaee, the deputy secretary of the NCRI, Marc-Jean Ghyssels, a renowned Belgian lawmaker, and Serge de Patoul, a former Belgian MP, addressed the demonstration.
In this meeting, the European Union will review the application of new sanctions against the Iranian regime.
Freedom-loving Iranians emphasize the following demands in this demonstration:
1. Making all relationships and negotiations with the mullahs’ regime conditional on the release of all political prisoners and those arrested in the uprising
2. The recognition of the right of the Iranian people to overthrow the religious dictatorship, and the right of legitimate mutual defense against the brutal repression of the regime
3. The closure of the Iranian regime terror embassies and the expulsion of intelligence mercenaries and regime spies from European countries.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) sent a message to the Iranians’ demonstration in Brussels and said: “on its 36th day, the magnificent Iran uprising continues to shake the pillars of Khamenei’s oppression, crimes, and injustice. Your rally today is now sending a powerful message to the world. The message of the Iran uprising to the leaders of the 27 European Union member states, presently meeting in Brussels, and to all the world leaders is that the mullahs’ era has ended”.
Mrs. Rajavi added, “the era for an international Iran policy based on engaging the clerical regime has also ended. Now, the people of Iran, the Iran uprising, and the Iranian Resistance are the ones who will have the final say. Recognize the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the regime.”
