Iran Protests Round-Up—Day 44–October 29, 2022

October 29, 2022: Saturday, October 29, marked the 44th day of nationwide protests against the Iranian regime, which began on September 16. Iran’s protests have expanded to 203 cities and all 31 provinces across the country.

According to reports gathered by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the regime has so far killed 450 civilians and arrested 25,000 others. The PMOI/MEK has published the names of 260 killed protesters.

October 29, 2022: Protests in Arak, Kermanshah, Yazd, Kamyaran, Piranshahr, Mashhad, Tehran, Bukan, Rasht, Saqqez, Bandar Abbas, Astara, Borujerd, and Marivan.

On Saturday, October 29, a large number of people in Arak, Markazi Province, took part in the burial ceremony of Mehrshad Shahidi, who was killed in the protests.

The people chanted, “Death to the IRGC,” “I will kill whoever killed my brother,” “Death to the Supreme Leader (Khamenei) after many long years of crimes,” and “Each person is killed, a thousand people will rise.”

They clashed with repressive forces, who fired tear gas at the crowd.

October 29, 2022: Student protests in Tehran, Marivan, Kerman, Mashhad, Yazd, Khorramabad, Qazvin, Ardabil, Isfahan, Arak, Urmia, Sanandaj, Karaj, and Ahvaz.

The mullahs’ regime started a new wave of crackdown against students who resumed protests across the country on Saturday, October 29, the 44th day of the nationwide uprising. IRGC and MOIS agents attacked some universities in Tehran and other cities and arrested a large number of students.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, sent a message about the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people and said: “We salute the hundreds of youths and teens who have laid down their lives for Iran’s freedom. They braved bullets and said that if Iran cannot be freed except through our sacrifice, we offer our lives. Tulips have grown from the blood of the country’s youths.”
