Protests and strikes took place in universities and markets in different cities of Iran – December 5, 2022

December 5, 2022: Monday, December 5, marked the 81st day of nationwide protests against the Iranian regime, which began on September 16. Iran’s protests have expanded to 280 cities and all 31 provinces across the country.

According to reports gathered by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the regime has so far killed 700 civilians and arrested 30,000 others. The PMOI/MEK has published the names of 565 killed protesters.

December 5, 2022: Protests and strikes in Lahijan, Khomeyn, Dezful, Dehgolan, Rasht, Ravansar, Zarrin Shahr, Saqqez, Sanandaj, Shahin Shahr, Shahreza, Shahrekord, Shiraz, Fars, Fardis, Qazvin, Marvdasht, Marivan, Mashhad, Naysar, Hamedan, Ahvaz, Karaj, Kerman, Kermanshah, Garmsar, Gohardasht, Yazd, Yazdanshahr, Bandar Ganaveh, and Kazerun.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, sent a message on the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people and said: “Hail to the students and youths of Iran who rise up in the name of freedom and in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives in this path. Those who refuse to surrender to religious fascism and oppression. They undertake the path of struggle & rise up to change the status quo.”

She added: “Courageous students rose up today in dozens of universities across Iran, vowing to continue to the end the path of their fallen friends. In step with Bazaar merchants, workers, students, and other sectors of society, they pledged to fight on and take back Iran.”

Mrs. Rajavi, in another message, said: “I salute Bazaar merchants across Iran who stopped work and went on strike on the 81st day of Iran uprising. They joined university students and other social strata to support Iran protests. Iran Revolution will win victory!”
