The MEK supporters also paid tribute to the nationwide uprisings’ martyrs. According to reports tallied by the MEK, over 750 protesters have killed so far.

It is worth to mention that Saturday, January 28, 2023, marked the 135th day of the continuous anti-regime protests across Iran.

Background

Following the brutal and tragic murder of Mahsa Amini in police custody in September 2022, protests erupted in Iran. Soon, demonstrations became political, with citizens blaming the entire regime for all economic and social problems in Iran.

The Iranian people have continued what many consider a revolution in the making, despite the regime’s heavy crackdown. This continuation indicates this uprising is well organized.

MEK and its Resistance Units Network have been acknowledged by many Iranian state media outlets and officials as the driving force behind this uprising.
