January 20, 2023: Friday, January 20, marked the 127th day of nationwide protests against the Iranian regime, which began on September 16. Iran’s protests have expanded to 282 cities and all 31 provinces across the country.
According to reports gathered by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the regime has so far killed 750 civilians and arrested 30,000 others. The PMOI/MEK has published the names of 637 killed protesters.

January 20, 2023: Protests and strikes in Zahedan, Rask, Galikesh, Gorgan, and Tehran.
On Friday, January 20, the Baloch people of Sistan and Baluchestan Province took to the streets in continuous anti-regime protests with locals chanting slogans specifically targeting regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his entire crackdown apparatus, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and the paramilitary Basij.
Locals in Zahedan and Rask took to the streets despite all the security measures adopted by regime officials to prevent such anti-regime protests from continuing. Protesters in the capital of Sistan and Baluchistan gathered in large numbers and were seen chanting:
“Death to Khamenei!”
“Death to IRGC! Death to the Basij!”
“Death to the dictator!”
“I will kill those who killed my brother!”
“We don’t want a republic of executions!”
“This is the year Seyed Ali (Khamenei) is overthrown!”
“Khamenei is a murderer! His rule is illegitimate!”
“Khamenei, have some shame! Let go of the country!”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, sent a message on the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, and said: “Today, the freedom-loving people of Zahedan, Rask, Khash and Galikesh rose up again with chants of “To our fallen comrades we pledge to stand to the end” and “Khamenei, shame on you, let go of our country.” Dictators cannot stop people who are determined to win their freedom.”
