February 17, 2023: Friday, February 17, marked the 155th day of nationwide protests against the Iranian regime, which began on September 16. Iran’s protests have expanded to 282 cities and all 31 provinces across the country.
According to reports gathered by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the regime has so far killed 750 civilians and arrested 30,000 others. The PMOI/MEK has published the names of 647 killed protesters.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, sent a message on the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, and said: “The people of Zahedan, Khash, Galikesh and Sardasht again took to the streets today, with chants of “death to Khamenei.” They showed that Iran protests continue until the mullah regime is overthrown. In Zahedan, people chanted “No to the Shah No to the Mullahs”, rejecting all forms of dictatorship.”
Protests in various parts of Tehran and other cities
Protesters in various parts of Tehran and other cities, including Mashhad, Sanandaj, Shiraz, Karaj, Qazvin, Arak, Izeh, Ahvaz, Khorramabad, Rasht, Yazd, Javanrud, and Qorveh were taking to the streets on Thursday night. The people wewre responding to calls for protests marking the 40th day of the regime’s executions of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Mohammad Hosseini.

“This is the year Seyed Ali (Khamenei) is overthrown!”
“Khamenei is a murderer! His rule is illegitimate!”

“We don’t want an Islamic state!”
“We will fight and take back Iran!”
“We swear on our compatriots’ blood that we will stand to the end!”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, hailed the people of Iran for their anti-regime protests and said: “I salute the heroic people of Iran who have taken to the streets with ever-greater determination for the regime’s overthrow, chanting “freedom” and “death to Khamenei.” Iran protests ongoing in dozens of districts in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Sanandaj, and Mashhad.”
She added: “On the 40th day memorial of Mohammad MehdiKarami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, women and youths have risen up in Arak, Shiraz, Izeh, Tehran, Isfahan, Qazvin, Javanrud, etc. vowing to remain loyal to the cause of their fallen comrades and realizing freedom and the mullahs’ overthrow.”
