MEK Resistance Units Rise: Executions Ignite a Nationwide Movement for Freedom in Iran

Resistance Units across Iran honor the memory of PMOI martyrs Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani

The Execution That Sparked a Flame

On July 27, 2025, the Iranian regime carried out the execution of two political prisoners—Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani —both long-standing members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). What the clerical dictatorship intended as a show of power has, instead, provoked an unprecedented outpouring of resistance from across the country. Their crime: refusing to abandon their beliefs and commitment to a free Iran. “I will not negotiate my life,” Ehsani had defiantly declared before his execution. That statement now serves as a rallying cry for a nation awakening to rebellion.

Resistance in Action: Cities Alight with Defiance

From Tehran to Shiraz, Zahedan to Mashhad, Resistance Units—the MEK’s network inside Iran—took to the streets in coordinated acts of defiance. Videos posted by at the social media show members placing images of the executed heroes on walls, hanging anti-regime banners, and broadcasting messages condemning Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In Tehran, one Resistance Unit declared, “We will continue the path of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani until the overthrow of Khamenei’s regime and the freedom of Iran.”

In Ahvaz, graffiti spread across public walls read, “We will overthrow the regime, in their name.”

And in Sari, digital projectors lit up buildings with slogans like: “With every martyr, a thousand rise.”

These acts weren’t random protests—they were part of a coordinated, strategic movement fueled by sacrifice and vision.

Martyrs Who Live On Through Action

Despite enduring physical and psychological torture, neither Ehsani nor Hassani renounced their ideals. Their unwavering defiance in the face of death has transformed them into symbols of Iran’s broader yearning for change.

Resistance Units, citing their last words and messages, are turning grief into organized defiance. On multiple banners, the message proclaimed: “The path of PMOI martyrs Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani continues.”

A Cornered Regime Exposes Its Weakness

These executions—among over 1,400 under President Masoud Pezeshkian’s term—underscore a truth the world must recognize: the regime kills not from strength, but fear.

Fear of uprising.
Fear of organized resistance.
Fear of the thousands now echoing a cry once whispered in prison cells: No surrender. No compromise.

What Khamenei hoped would be a deterrent has instead become a spark. In the wake of the executions of Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani, Resistance Units responded with defiant messages across cities:
“With their execution, Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani showed that there will be no surrender”
“Khamenei must go”

A Nation at the Tipping Point

The momentum sparked by Ehsani and Hassani’s executions has evolved into a sustained and growing movement. It is not merely about mourning the fallen—it is about finishing what they started.

“We will avenge PMOI martyrs Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani”,” a Resistance Unit in Isfahan declared.

This isn’t the end—it’s a turning point. And with every projection on city walls, every burned poster of the Supreme Leader, and every chant in the night, Iran’s Resistance Units are rewriting the future.
