Floods have caused severe damage to the lives of people in Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Fars provinces.

In Bandar Abbas, the floods killed an eight-year-old child in Issin city. In Bandar Abbas and Bashagard cities, rain and wind have caused power outages in 30 villages.

The road between Jask and Bashagard has been blocked by floodwater. In Konarak (Sistan and Baluchestan), the flood has blocked roads. Water and sewage have entered 500 homes.

Chabahar has seen 106 mm of precipitation in 12 hours, equalling the average for a full year. Schools have been closed.

People living in slums and makeshift homes are especially threatened by the floods. The floods were predicted by weather organizations, but poor management have turned the situation critical.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said in this regard: “I extend my sincerest sympathies to the people of Fars province and deepest condolences to the survivors of the flood victims. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured, I urge the youth in neighboring areas to rush to the aid of those affected by floods”.

She added: “The criminal and plunderer mullahs ruling Iran are responsible for aggravating our people’s pain and suffering in the face of natural disasters”.
