World Leaders Demanded Accountability of Iran’s Regime, Support Maryam Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan

World Leaders Demanded Accountability of Iran's Regime, Support Maryam Rajavi's 10-Point Plan

In a joint letter, 125 former world leaders from 46 countries have issued a joint letter urging international support for Iran’s pro-democracy protests and the blacklisting of the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). The letter, directed at world powers, follows the execution of three protesters, emphasizing the urgent situation.

It calls on the leaders of Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States to hold the leadership of Iran accountable for its crimes. The letter expresses solidarity with the Iranian people’s desire for a secular and democratic republic and recognizes their rejection of dictatorial rule.

The former world leaders also express support for the democratic coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its Ten-point plan by the NCRI President, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, which advocates for democratic values, free elections, gender equality, and a non-nuclear Iran.

The letter’s signatures include 50 former Presidents, 47 former Prime Ministers, one former Chancellor, and nine other former Heads of State from across the world. Two former Presidents of the European Commission and three Nobel Peace Prize laureates are among the signatories.
They highlight the crackdown on the popular uprising in Iran, with hundreds of protesters killed and thousands arrested.

The letter asserts that the international community’s prolonged silence and lack of action over the years have fostered a climate of impunity within Iran. It highlights that the Iranian authorities have carried out extensive executions of protesters and political prisoners, with tens of thousands losing their lives since the 1980s. The letter notes explicitly the tragic events of the summer of 1988, when over 30,000 political prisoners, mainly comprising members of the opposition MEK, were ruthlessly massacred.

The letter condemns the Iranian regime’s interference in the Middle East and Europe, including its support for Russia in Ukraine’s war and its terrorist attempts and cyber-attacks in Albania.

In conclusion, the letter urges nations to unite to support the Iranian people and take decisive actions, such as blacklisting the IRGC and holding regime officials accountable for their crimes against humanity.
