One-Week Human Rights Exhibition in Bucharest, Romania, Condemns Executions in Iran

Bucharest, Romania – May 10–17, 2025

Bucharest, Romania – May 10–17, 2025: A one-week human rights exhibition was held in Bucharest by supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The event supported the “No to Executions” campaign in Iran, condemned the death penalty, and called for the release of political prisoners while raising awareness about the Iranian regime’s escalating human rights violations.

The exhibition highlighted the harsh conditions faced by PMOI members and other political prisoners in Iran, many of whom have been sentenced to death following unjust trials. Among the most urgent cases featured were Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, both reportedly facing imminent execution.

Members of Bucharest’s Iranian community voiced strong support for establishing a democratic republic in Iran. They firmly rejected all forms of dictatorship, including theocratic rule by the mullahs and any return to monarchy.

Participants also demanded the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Romania and urged the Romanian government to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

Organizers emphasized the importance of recognizing the Iranian people’s ongoing resistance, particularly the courageous actions of the MEK Resistance Units operating inside Iran. They reaffirmed the Iranian people’s right to defend themselves in their pursuit of freedom and democracy.

Romanian attendees at the exhibition expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, voicing support for human rights, democratic values, and an end to the brutality of the current regime.
