Iran’s Regime Hangs Young Uprising Protesters in Escalating Atrocities

Iran’s regime has launched a ruthless execution spree targeting young participants in the recent nationwide uprising, aiming to terrorize the population and prevent further unrest. The killings, carried out in April 2026, involve fabricated charges like “corruption on earth” (moharebeh) for alleged attacks on regime bases and facilities.

Timeline of Executions

Starting on April 2, 2026, authorities hanged 18-year-old Amirhossein Hatami at Tehran’s Evin Prison. Hatami, from the uprising hotspots, was accused of attacking a Basij base during the protests. The regime rushed his trial through Branch 26 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, denying him legal representation or family visits in a blatant violation of due process.

On April 5, 2026, the regime executed two more: 31-year-old Shahin Vahdatparast and 19-year-old Mohammad Amin Bigleri. They faced charges of “moharebeh” for reportedly assaulting a weapons depot, setting fire to regime facilities, and destroying Basij centers during the uprising. Their hasty trials exemplified the regime’s sham judicial process to eliminate dissenters.

April 6, 2026 saw the hanging of 23-year-old Ali Fahim, charged with attacking a restricted military base. Fahim, a brave protester from the uprising, endured a mock trial that ignored evidence and rights, part of the regime’s pattern to crush youth resistance.

Amid this wave, the regime murdered arrested protester Abbas Yavari (31) under torture in Shiraz in March 2026. Yavari, detained during the uprising, was beaten to death in detention, with officials fabricating a suicide story to cover up the brutality.

April 21, 2026 brought the execution of 24-year-old student Amir-Ali Mirjaafari, another uprising youth targeted for his protest activities.

Finally, on April 30, 2026, 21-year-old karate champion Sasan Azadvar from Isfahan was hanged. Azadvar, known for confronting repressive forces during the uprising, was convicted on trumped-up moharebeh charges after a flawed trial process.

These executions highlight the regime’s desperate strategy to intimidate the populace through public hangings and rapid judicial farces, all rooted in the protesters’ roles in the nationwide uprising.
