August 9, 2026 – The 30th Free Iran Telethon is now entering its third day. Building on the final call issued ahead of the campaign, Simay-e Azadi (INTV)—the independent 24-hour Persian-language satellite channel that has operated for more than three decades solely on viewer support—launched its live broadcasts on Friday, August 7, and the campaign has continued through Sunday, August 9, 2026.
As an independent broadcaster receiving no funding from any government or foreign power, Simay-e Azadi relies entirely on public contributions to remain on air and provide uncensored news and information amid intensifying regime censorship.
On Saturday, August 8, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Gothenburg, Sweden, gathered in a demonstration and expressed their support for the Free Iran Telethon campaign. They announced their readiness to participate in the campaign and make their contributions to Simay-e Azadi in support of the channel and its continued broadcasting.
Organizers encourage everyone to join the live telethon, make a contribution (large or small), and share the call with the hashtag #FreeIranTelethon.
