Pompeo warns Iran on nuclear arms; hopes military force will never be needed

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday warned Iran not to pursue nuclear weapons, saying it would face the “wrath of the entire world” if it did so, but added that he hoped it would never be necessary for the United States to take military action against the country.

Pressed on whether the United States would do whatever it had to do to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, Pompeo said: “President Trump has been unambiguous in his statements that say Iran will not be able to obtain a nuclear weapon.”

Iran Deputy FM: Nuclear deal (JCPOA) in ICU

In recent remarks, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has used a very interesting description for the current circumstances in regards to Iran’s nuclear deal with the international community.

“In a conference on Iran, I said the Iran nuclear deal is in the ICU because it has lost its most important balancing pillar. The balancing point tipped with the United States exiting the pact.

Now, if Europe and other JCPOA signatories seek to maintain this nuclear agreement they must place in further sacrifices, and especially compensate the U.S.’ absence and this country’s returning sanctions against Iran.

I cannot say the forecast of continuing negotiations with Europe is bright or not. It is clear, though, that these talks can guide us in obtaining a joint package to safeguard the JCPOA. We are also waiting and hoping for the European’s package to be acceptable for Iran so that Iran doesn’t exit the JCPOA,” Araqchi said on Thursday.

This clearly shows the Iranian regime is completely unable to find a solution and yet ridiculously claim they can help the Europeans in this regard. Unless, of course, this senior Iranian regime official is referring to the mullahs’ capability of plundering the Iranian people’s God-given wealth.

Feuds Over FATF, Iran Regime’s Impasse

Despite the Iranian regime’s parliament’s stagnant progress in joining the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)or the acceptance of certain protocols against money laundering and terrorism funding, controversies are continuing outside, between the regime’s political parties.

As mentioned earlier, the approval of FATF will restrict the regime, especially its terrorist Revolutionary Guard Corps and Quds Force, in their support of terrorism; with the approval of this bill, the regime will be unable to continue funding the affiliating terrorist groups especially the Hezbollah of Lebanon.

In summary, the approval of FATF is like drinking poison for the regime, as it will have to stop interfering with the affairs of the Middle Eastern countries and eventually, retreat from its ‘strategic depth’; which will be disastrous for the regime because without its terrorist affiliates and strategic depth, it will seriously struggle to survive. Which explains why Khamenei is so worried, and why Alamolhoda has gotten his gang in Mashhad to send threatening messages to the “traitor” parliamentarians.
