Iran, destroing environment and suppresion are conjoined twins

Execution of an innocent man in Iran

This morning, Monday 18 June 2018, Iran’s regime executed an innocent man from the country’s Sufi religious minority.

Mohammad Salas, 51, was tortured, had his teeth & ribs broken, needed 17 stitches on his head, lost his vision and consciousness and was forced to make a false “confession”.

The Iranian resistance, NCRI, had called to save his life.

Amnesty International also had issued a statement in this regard asking for the halt of execution order.

Mr. Salas had repeatedly announced that he had been forced under torture to accept charges which he was not involved in.

Protests take place in Tehran and Ahvaz wanting serious changes

After clashes with police this week, a group of workers from the Ahvaz National Steel Group held a protest and sit in for the third consecutive day declaring the release of their co-workers. They gathered in front of the main Judiciary in Ahwaz. The number of detainees held in prison due to earlier protest concerning worker’s rights abuse is said to be more than ten. Earlier reports had indicated even up to 60 steelworkers arrested but nevertheless, the authorities have not taken any serious measures to fulfill labor rights and payments.

Iran Regime’s Ministry of Energy Refuses to Grant the Right to Dying Lake Urmia

The director of planning and integration of Lake Urmia Restoration Project, Masoud Tajrishi, stated that Iran’s management of water resources is based on fear and ignorance; he reported that the Energy Ministry refuses to obey the law and release the dam waters into Lake Urmia.

Tajrishi stated that following his correspondence with the Energy Ministry, they released water into Lake Urmia for only two days, before they cut it off again.

Water Politics Limited, which is a consulting firm based in the United States, delivers independent analysis on the global strategic water issues; not long ago, it shed some light on Iran’s water crisis too; it reported of Iran’s “water and economic insecurity” as its “biggest and most serious challenges”; it also emphasised that one of the reasons behind such massive water shortage is the fact that more than 600 of Iran’s reservoirs were built “to benefit the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps”.

Iran: Protests and Strikes – the Society Is in the Crisis of Livelihood, and the Government Is in the Crisis of Legitimacy

The ongoing protests and strikes in Iran, have become significant determining factors for people’s social and political affairs.

Dominated by such an oppressive, non-responsive, and monopolistic regime, it’s inevitable that these protests and strikes are deemed political, or as the regime puts it, “security” concerns; and as they grow in frequency and intensity (as they have so since January), so do people in their potential to subvert the regime.

As evident from its efforts over the past 37 years, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) shares this goal (i.e., the destruction of regime) with other Iranians who are all calling for an immediate change of regime, as evident from their ongoing demonstrations.

To bring the efforts of Iranians to fruition, NCRI will be hosting a huge rally, which some refer to as the “galaxy of all uprisings”, on 30th June in Paris. This rally will demonstrate to the world the common goal of all Iranians and will also serve as a reminder that that the only effective way to address the current problems is to overthrow the regime and support its replacement with a viable Democratic Alternative.

Iran

Iran continues to use the death penalty as a severe form of punishment. The world must voice strong opposition against executions.

Iran’s proxy, the Lebanese Hezbollah, is using Beirut int’l airport as a “base” for its variety of smuggling
