A brief report of the protests in Iran on Thursday
On Thursday, August 2, angry protesters in various cities across the country, including Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Najaf Abad and Shahin Shahr, demonstrated against the tyranny of the mullahs’ regime, chanted slogans such as: Death to the Dictator. It was at a time when the repressive forces were on full alert from the first hours of the morning to prevent the formation of these protests, but they failed. The Internet connections have slowed down in many parts of the country.
In Shapour, Isfahan, where protests have been raging for the past two days, demonstrators chanted, “Don’t be afraid, we’re all together.” A large contingent of anti-riot police has surrounded the area. The demonstrators have also set vehicle tires ablaze to prevent the regime’s repressive forces from attacking and dispersing them with tear gas.

In Tehran, protests took place in Valiasr, Park-e Daneshjou and the City Theater (Theatr-e Shahr) and Zibashahr. The protester chanted “Death to Khamenei” and “Mullahs must get lost” and they clashed with security forces.
In Tehran’s Valiasr Street, clashed between protesters and security forces continued as night settled. Demonstrators set trash bins ablaze and blocked the road to hamper the movement of security forces. People lined up in front of anti-riot police and prevented them from dispersing the crowd.

In Isfahan, protesters blocked the road to Yazd. The city was filled with smoke from fires and the streets were strewn with rocks and brick bats. In the Qahderijan district of Isfahan, protesters clashed with the regime’s repressive security forces.

Protests in Isfahan turned into heavy clashes between demonstrators and state security forces. Videos obtained from Shahpour, Isfahan, show that people were throwing rocks at anti-riot police. The air was thick with smoke of burnt tires.

In Arak, night demonstrations continued. In Karaj, protesters continued to chant anti-regime slogans and resisted against the security forces. In some periods, parts of the city were in total control and repelled security forces.
Ahvaz was the latest city to join the widespread protests that began that day in different parts of Iran. People gathered in the Naderi Street as the sun set. Security forces threatened people and ordered them to disperse.
In Karaj, protesters chanted “Death to dictator” and called for unity among the people. “Don’t be afraid, we’re all together,” they said.

Thousands of people from Mashhad rallied from Shohada Square to Tohid Square and chanted the slogans: “Death to the Dictator; Down with high prices; Shame on you who live in palaces, let go of the country. The repressive forces started shooting into the air and firing blank guns. The riot guard attacked the people and arrested some of them, but the people continued to confront and continue their protests. They also chanted: High prices, misery, down with Rouhani.

In this regard Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), hailed the uprising by the people of Tehran, Isfahan, Shirza, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Karaj, Arak, Shahin-Shahr, Najafabad and other cities.
she said, “People in different cities came out onto the streets today, Thursday, August 2, 2018, chanting, “death to the dictator”, “cannons, tanks and machine guns are no longer effective, the mullahs must be killed,” and “today is the month of blood, Khamenei will be overthrown,” she added, “Rebellious cities are joining ranks one after the other. The cry by people who yearn for freedom is growing louder and the uprising is spreading by the minute.”
