Widespread coverage of the MEK/PMOI rally in Stockholm
On July 20, supporters of MEK held a rally in Stockholm in support of uprisings in Iran and the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran. The rally was widely covered by media outlets in western and Arab countries.

The National Council Of Resistance Of Iran (NCRI) have held demonstrations against the current regime in Iran in Brussels, Washington, Berlin and Stockholm.
Originally formed in 1981 by a group of Iranian dissidents opposing the Ayatollah Khomeini and the Islamic Republic they came to prominence in the West in 2002 when they exposed Iran’s nuclear program.
They advocate a transformation of Iran based on the abolition of the death penalty and creating a modern legal system with independent judges as part of Maryam Rajavi’s Ten Point Plan for Future Iran.

Hundreds of Iranians took to the streets of Stockholm on July 20th demanding that the European Union becomes more resolute over Iranian regime policies, represented by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) as they are “the main centres of suppression and terrorism”, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) reported.
Close to 5,000 protestors massed in the Kungtärgården Square, followed by a march towards Stockholm centre demostrating their full support for the Democratic Iranian Opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).
Maryam Rajavi is the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and her ten-point plan to restore Iran from the Mullah’s regime is supported by the demonstrators.
Demonstrators strongly denounced “any relationship with or promotion of the mullahs’ regime and called on European governments to prosecute, punish, and expel intelligence agents and terrorist Quds force mercenaries,” NCRI reported.
Rajavi urged the European Union under the Finnish Presidency to list the main centres of repression and terrorism, namely; “Khamenei’s Beyt”, the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS), as terrorist entities. The want the EU to impose comprehensive sanctions, to prosecute, punish and expel the mercenaries of the regime.
The demonstration is the fourth such event to take place in less than a month. The last big gathering was in Berlin and massed more than 15000 people on July 6th, Iran Focus website reported.
The opposition has been at its peak of activity over the last week. Five days of consecutive meetings held by the opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Albania in which several hundred Western as well as Arab dignitaries took part has had a tangible impact on the ongoing events, with people no less than Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor and personal lawyer of the US president Donald Trump calling for regime change in Iran. Former prime ministers and foreign ministers of France, Canada and Algeria called the world to put an end to what they called a “policy of appeasement” towards the regime in power in Iran.
Rama Yade, the former Minister of Human Rights of France gave a speech in the protest gathering, in which she referred to the 5-day congress of resistance in Ashraf 3, the headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK or PMOI) in Albania. “This city was built in less than two years, in the middle of nowhere. You have proved through that amazing master work in Ashraf 3 that the same could one day be done in Iran,” Yade said.
High profile political figures gave speeches at the PMOI headquarters in Albania including: Magnus Oscarsson of the Swedish Parliament; Senator Lucio Malan of the Italian Senate; Senator Gerald Michael Horkan and former Minister John Perry of Ireland; Edward Julius Solens, former Minister of the Environment of Iceland; Kimmo Sasi, former minister and parliamentarian from the Finnish Parliament.
