Thousands to Rally in New York against Hassan Rouhani

Thousands to Rally in New York against Hassan Rouhani

By Staff

Iran remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. Iran’s regime uses terrorism as a tool of its state craft, and it has no reservations about using that tool on any continent.

The terrorist operations of the Islamic Republic have never stopped in the past four decades.  They have caused tragic and catastrophic death of innocent people in the Middle East and all around the world.

In the current situation, where the regime has used its terrorist groups to set the region on fire, Hassan Rouhani, the regime’s president, brands himself as a “moderate” figure, and attends the UN General Assembly to justify the crimes of his fundamentalist regime and the number one state-sponsor of terrorism.

In addition to causing damage the Middle East region world peace, the destructive effects of this terrorist regime have also greatly affected the Iranian people. Torture, execution and suppression are just part of its crimes this regime has committed against the Iranian people.

Hassan Rouhani, who calls himself a moderate, has a dark record of human rights abuses. More than 3,800 people have been executed on his watch, and thousands more are in prison. The imprisonment and torture of civil rights and human rights activists, and giving harsh prison sentences to protesters have only become worse during Rouhani’s tenure.

Therefore on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, simultaneous with the opening of the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, thousands from across the United States will attend a major rally to support the Iranian people’s quest for regime change. The rally will also call on international community for firmness vis-à-vis the oppressive and terror-sponsoring theocracy ruling Iran.

Several prominent speakers, including Senator Joe Lieberman, will address the rally. (More speakers to be announced)

Demonstrator well call on the world community that the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and its president Hassan Rouhani do not represent the Iranian people who have shouted “Death to Khamenei, Death to Rouhani” in the nationwide uprisings, demanding the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime and the establishment of democracy.

The rally will also call on UN member states to impose comprehensive sanctions on the regime for the flagrant violations of human rights, export of terrorism, continued ambitious nuclear and missile program and wreaking havoc in the Middle East region.

About The Organization of Iranian-American Communities:

OIAC advocates for a democratic, secular and non-nuclear republic and therefore supports the 10-point Plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the democratic coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran. OIAC does not support a foreign war to bring about change in Iran, nor does it support an appeasement policy to the detriment of people of Iran
