In a message sent on December 16, Romanian lawmaker, Mrs. Maria Grecea, a member of The Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for a Free Iran, expressed her solidarity with the nationwide Iran protests and condemned the international community’s silence over regime’s crimes against humanity.
Below is the full text of her message.
Hello, my name is Maria Grecea. I am a member of The Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for a Free Iran.
Maria Grecea: I have a message for the Iranian people. I ask them to continue their protests and fight to obtain their rights.
The Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for a Free Iran supports the Iranian men, women, youth, students, workers and teachers who are now imprisoned in unbearable conditions. They are yearning for change. We call for the immediate release of all the political prisoners who were arrested during the recent uprising and protests.
We urge all the international human rights organizations and human rights defenders in every corner of the world to join this declaration of solidarity with the Iranian people, help the Iranian youth in any possible way and support their legitimate demands.
We strongly call upon the United Nations and all the international human rights defender organizations to decisively condemn Iran regime’s brutal crackdown on Iran protests. We urge these organizations to demand the United Nations to immediately send a fact-finding mission to Iran to enquire about the situation of martyrs, wounded and the detained protesters of recent Iran protests.
Silence vis-à-vis the ongoing crime against humanity in Iran is totally unexpectable. The UN Security Council should declare the Iranian regime and its authorities as the perpetrators of crime against humanity. They should face justice. The UN Security Council should declare that this regime is committing crime against humanity.
I wish you all well.
