Democracy in Iran something that we all want to see
Lord Mark McInnes: conservative member of the House of Lords in the United Kingdom announced his support for the Iranian’s Gathering in Paris
Mark McInnes
Hello I’m Mark McInnes I’m a conservative member of the House of Lords in the United Kingdom and I’m delighted to be able to do this in short interview today. I’ve been very concerned over the previous 6 months about the reaction from the regime in Iran to the Peaceful protest that been taken place since December. I think those protests are quite different from any that was seen before with protester really about people who are suffering economically under the regime. the protests are very different in terms of the people who protest. Ordinary workers now in Iran are in a third of the official poverty line. people are really suffering, pensioners are losing their savings and the people of Iran had enough of this undemocratic clerical regime and it’s very important now that across Europe and across the wider world we support those with peacefully protesting and a ensure that they are not facing extrajudicial measures because Amnesty International reports said, thousands of political prisoners have suffered in the past three decades in Iran from extrajudicial, reprisals, imprisonment and indeed execution and if we look back to what happened in 1988 and the Massacre 1988 it’s important to the United Nations has a full independent investigation into the awful human rights abuses and massacres took place in 1988. I think you’ll be an opportunity to rise all these points as a wonderful Gathering that we look forward to in Paris on the 30th of June. I’ll be bringing with me and number of other parliamentarians the United Kingdom and I think it’s going to be a wonderful opportunity for people to hear Madame Rajavi‘s 10-point plane for Democracy in Iran something that we all want to see.
