Rep Sheila Jackson Lee supports Iran protests: Iran will be free because of your fight
Wednesday, December 11, Washington, DC, bipartisan members of congress joined Iranian Americans from across the U.S. at a House Briefing to support ongoing protests in Iran and to hold the Iranian regime accountable for indiscriminate and deadly use of force. The briefing was organized by the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC).
Rep Sheila Jackson Lee gave a speech at the House Briefing to support ongoing protests in Iran, her speech as follow:
Rep Sheila Jackson Lee : I am so grateful to you for this. as I’m rushing for this moment (in history) today, the United States of America (which is) something that all of you will understand because we have stood together for more than a decade for freedom in Iran and for the freedom of your mothers and fathers and friends and relatives and daughters and sons. And so if there’s anyone that knows about freedom it’s all of you in this room.
Rep Sheila Jackson Lee : Iran will be free because of your fight. It will be free because of our (sister). I’m so sorry that I’m not there in person, as I said as I saw some of you in the hallway. But what I will say is that you are good people, you are fighting for justice.
She said: I have the belief that Iran will be free some day. I will be there with you standing in the sunlight of the beauty of Iran and people and we will cry together because freedom has come. Never give up. And we won’t give up on the democracy of this land. And we will stand for freedom as well. And I believe that we will together join, unify, never give up. I will always be your friend.
To my dear friend who may be there or not, I don’t think he is, but I do continue to be your friend and we will fight together for what is right. May the blessings be upon you.
