Regarding the brutal execution of young protester, Mohsen Shekari by the Iranian regime, The British Committee for Iran Freedom (BCFIF) issued a press release. BCFIF called on the UK government to lead the response in pressurizing the Iranian regime to stop the executions and to release all detained protesters immediately.

Press Release: British MPs and Peers strongly condemn the brutal execution of detained young prisoner by the Iranian regime
We were shocked to hear the news of the heinous execution of Mohsen Shekari, one of the detained Iranian protesters, this morning. It shows that the mullahs’ execution machine has begun its lethal work, and another crime against humanity is in the making.
In the summer of 1988, Ebrahim Raisi, now mullahs’ President, was one of the key members of a Death Commission that ordered the execution of 30,000 political prisoners (mainly members and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI/MEK) who had refused to denounce their organisation).
At the time, no one was held responsible for the abject failure of the United Nations to intervene or to disseminate information to the public. Inevitably, this has merely emboldened the mullahs to persist with their crimes against their citizens. The clerical regime not only committed this crime, but then reported it in its official media.
This was indicative of their intention to execute other dissidents arrested for participating in demonstrations. Their crime was to demand the essential human rights that we all enjoy in the democratic world.
It is now incumbent on the international community to express its outrage and prevent yet more crimes against humanity – and not to hide behind a wall of silence. Already, based on information published by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), more than 700 protesters have been slain by the regime, and more than 30,000 are now detained in Iran’s notorious prisons.
As has been outlined by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, it is now time for the United Nations, the European Union, and the UK government, as well as other human rights advocates to strongly condemn the execution of the 23-year-old Mohsen Shekari and to take effective and concrete measures against the clerical regime ruling Iran. These measures should include the closure of the regime’s embassies and the expulsion of its diplomats and operatives who take orders from the Ministry of Intelligence and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
In another note, today, in response to the request of NCRI and other plaintiffs, the Belgian Constitutional Court suspended the release of Assadollah Assadi, the mullahs’ regime’s diplomat terrorist, and his transfer to Iran until the content of the case is examined by the Constitutional Court within three months. This is a positive news, which will hopefully be a prelude to the trial of perpetrators and those responsible for international terrorism, including Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi, who are responsible for thousands of executions and assassinations inside and outside Iran.
The clerical regime does not represent the Iranian people. In the face of the continued crimes in Iran, keeping silent and engaging with this regime is equivalent to complicity in the destruction of human rights. We must act now, and we urge the UK government to lead the response in pressurising the Iranian regime to stop the executions, and to immediately release all detained protesters.
