Assembly Backing Iranian Women's Struggle for Freedom and Democracy in Pescara, Italy

In a noteworthy assembly spearheaded by the Iranian Democratic Women’s Society in Italy, a conference took place within the municipality of Pescara, with a primary focus on bolstering the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and a democratic republic. The event also spotlighted the unwavering determination and courageous role of women in confronting the oppressive regime of clerics in Iran.

Distinguished figures lent their presence to the occasion, including Carlo Masci, the Mayor of Pescara, and several officials representing Pescara and the Abruzzo region. Their participation underscored their solidarity with Iranian women, who are engaged in an unyielding battle against the repressive Iranian regime. At the heart of their endorsement lay Maryam Rajavi‘s comprehensive Ten-Point Plan for shaping a democratic future for Iran.

During the gathering, Maurizia Sciarretta, the President of Pescara’s Equal Opportunities Commission, drew attention to the situation in Iran one year after the nationwide uprising. She commended the Iranian people, especially women, for their tenacity and pivotal role in the fight for freedom.

Shahed Shole, the organizer of the Iranian Democratic Women’s Society in Italy, expressed her admiration for the resilience displayed by Iranians in their quest for freedom. She placed specific emphasis on the crucial leadership role played by women in the nationwide uprising against the oppressive regime. Mrs. Shole also acknowledged the global support for the Iranian people’s resistance and championed their pursuit of freedom.

Maria Luigia Montopolino, President of Pescara’s Equal Opportunities Commission, applauded the active involvement of women in the struggle against the misogynistic regime. She affirmed the municipality’s unwavering support for Iranian women in their battle for their rights. Furthermore, Maria Franca D’Agostino, the President of the Equal Opportunities Commission in the Abruzzo Province, shared her insights from a meeting with the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran during her recent visit to Italy. She recounted aspects of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi‘s perspectives on the Iranian women’s struggle for liberation and shed light on the regime’s anxious reactions during Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s visit to Italy.

Concluding the conference, the Italian historian Gabriela Liberatore delivered her remarks.

The gathering emphasized the collective global support for the Iranian people’s resistance and celebrated the unrelenting efforts of Iranian women in their pursuit of freedom and equality. It reinforced the significance of international solidarity in the aspiration for a free and democratic Iran.
