Demonstration in Front of the Mullahs’ Regime Embassy in Rome

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the Human Rights Association “Don’t Touch Cain” announced a demonstration in front of the mullahs’ regime embassy in Rome to protest the increasing wave of executions in Iran.

In this protest demonstration, Emanuele Pozzolo, a member of the Italian Parliament’s Foreign Committee, Ms. Elisabetta Zamparutti, an official of the “Don’t Touch Cain” Association, and Ms. Anna Cinzia Bonfrisco, a member of the European Parliament from Italy, participated and spoke.

Emanuele Pozzolo, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Parliament, said in his speech: “Thank you for your continued efforts to liberate your homeland, Iran. I participate in this work on behalf of the Parliamentary Committee of the Friends of a Free Iran, and I also bring with me the support of Mr. Giulio Terzi to you.”

He added: “It is time for European countries, including Italy, to seriously acknowledge that these regime centers, called embassies, are, in fact, terrorist sites.” It is our duty as European politicians to make people understand that the presence of those hiding in these diplomatic places harms peace and international policies, and he called for the closure of the regime’s embassies.

Elisabetta Zamparutti, an official of the Human Rights Association, said in her speech:
“We are here to say stop the execution! With the execution of Samira, the Iranian regime has executed more than 820 people over the past year. This means that two people are executed every day. Samira’s execution was very shocking to us because she was forced to marry when she was only 15 years old. With the execution of Samira, the number of women executed this year has reached 21. In recent years, the Iranian regime executed 224 women.
The ruling regime in Iran executes minors and blatantly disregards international laws. What should we do? We are facing a bloody regime that ignores all laws and human rights. We must change our policy and put an end to any appeasement. We especially need to identify that force that can actually play an alternative role. This power exists. We have known the Iranian resistance for decades. In leading this movement, precisely because of the misogynistic nature of Iran’s ruling regime, there is a woman, Maryam Rajavi. In my opinion, this is not only symbolic but can show how important it is to support this movement. It is time for the West to officially recognize the Iranian resistance.”

Ms. Anna Cinzia Bonfrisco, a member of the European Parliament from Italy, was another speaker at the demonstration and said: “Our activity continues in the hope that the day will come when democracy and freedom will emerge in Iran, and Iranian citizens will benefit from their democratic rights. We want changes in the international political scene, as the Iranian regime is the financier of all terrorist groups, which, in turn, is considered a serious threat to the West, especially to our country and other countries bordering the Mediterranean coast.
Therefore, I want to say to the clerical regime: Shame on you and shame on the world. The world cannot and should not tolerate an Iranian regime that supports terrorism. Therefore, we stand with the freedom fighters and freedom seekers, as well as with the Iranian opposition community living abroad.”
