In an unprecedented show of support, a significant majority of UK lawmakers, including 224 members of the House of Commons and 329 members of the House of Lords, have endorsed Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-point Plan for establishing a democratic republic in Iran. This unified statement calls for designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and acknowledges the right of MEK Resistance Units to oppose the IRGC.
The total of 553 British lawmakers who signed the statement strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s actions against dissidents in Ashraf-3, Albania, asserting their rights under the Geneva Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights. Among the signatories are the heads of ten parliamentary committees, former Deputy Prime Minister Lord John Prescott, former Labour Party leader Lord Neil Kinnock, former Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron, former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith, former Chief of the General Staff Lord Richard Dannatt, and former First Minister of Northern Ireland Baroness Arlene Foster. Additionally, more than 55 former ministers and deputy ministers from Conservative and Labour cabinets have signed the statement.

The statement underscores the Iranian regime’s harmful role in the Middle East and its aggressive policies. UK lawmakers advocate for the IRGC’s terrorist designation and the imposition of oil sanctions on the regime. They also denounce the regime’s human rights abuses, particularly the oppression of women, and demand accountability for the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners.
Among the distinguished signatories are 15 bishops from the House of Lords, including former Archbishops of Canterbury and Wales, Dr. Rowan Williams and Dr. Barry Morgan. Leaders from the National Union of Ireland and the Welsh National Party, the head of the UK delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and five deputy leaders from the Conservative Party also support the statement.
The statement highlights the regime’s use of sham trials, such as the one against 100 PMOI members, as a pretext for future terrorist acts, especially in Europe. It notes that during the 2022 uprising, the Iranian people rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic, and called for regime change to establish a democratic republic.
Prominent political figures such as former Defence and Trade Secretary Lord Liam Fox, former Justice Secretary Sir Robert Buckland, former Armed Forces Minister John Spellar, former Trade Secretary Lord Lilley, former International Development Minister Baroness Verma, former Wales and Brexit Minister David Jones, former Northern Ireland and Environment Secretary Theresa Villiers, former Women and Education Secretary Baroness Morgan, Lord Price, Lord David Triesman, and Lord Henry Bellingham, former Foreign Office ministers, are among the supporters.
UK lawmakers urge all governments to support Mrs. Maryam Rajavi‘s Ten-Point Plan, which includes free elections, freedom of speech and assembly, the abolition of the death penalty, gender equality, the separation of religion and state, autonomy for Iran’s ethnic groups, and a non-nuclear Iran. They call on the international community to recognize the right of the Iranian people and MEK Resistance Units to resist the IRGC.
In their statement, the UK lawmakers demand global accountability for the ongoing crimes against humanity committed by the Iranian regime, emphasizing the importance of human rights and the rule of law to prevent rebellion against tyranny and oppression.
