Global Legislative Support: 4000 Lawmakers Back Maryam Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan for Iran

In an unprecedented show of solidarity, over 4,000 legislators from 81 parliaments across 50 countries have issued a statement endorsing Mrs. Maryam Rajavi‘s Ten-Point Plan. Mrs. Rajavi is the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). The statement also calls for designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity. This collective endorsement includes majorities from 34 legislative bodies, highlighting global consensus for supporting democratic change in Iran.

Prominent signatories include members of the UK House of Commons and House of Lords, the Italian Senate and House of Representatives, and parliaments from Norway, Slovenia, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Costa Rica, Yemen, and Jordan. The statement condemns the Iranian regime’s human rights abuses and its repression of dissidents, particularly those associated with the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq) at Camp Ashraf-3 in Albania.

The statement affirms the following key points:

Call for International Sanctions and Terrorist Designation: The IRGC is identified as a major source of regional and global instability, prompting calls for its terrorist designation and the imposition of oil sanctions on Iran.

The statement further stresses that the Iranian regime’s tactics, including show trials and persecution of MEK members abroad, are attempts to stifle opposition and must be internationally repudiated. It reiterates that the only solution to Iran’s dictatorship lies in regime change led by the Iranian people and their resistance movements.

This declaration by a diverse coalition of global legislators marks a pivotal moment in the international community’s stance on Iran, signaling a move away from appeasement towards active support for democratic transition and human rights in the region.

Statement on Iran

Supporting freedom and resistance in Iran for global peace and security

The statement of 4000 legislators in 81 parliaments from 50 countries, including the majority of representatives of 34 legislative assemblies, in support of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan, terrorist designation of the IRGC and the struggle of the MEK Resistance Units against the IRGC;

The majority of parliaments of the United Kingdom and Italy, the US House of Representatives, Norwegian Parliament are among the signatories of this statement.

The International Committee in Search of Justice (ISJ) has received copies of the statements of more than 4000 representatives of the people of 50 countries from Europe, North America, Australia and Arab countries in 81 legislative assemblies, who support the uprising of the Iranian people for a democratic republic and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), announced the ten-point program for the transitional period and designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity, and demanded the recognition of the uprising of the Iranian people and the struggle of the MEK Resistance Units against the IRGC.

In addition to the resolution approved by the Belgian Senate and Resolution 1148 of the US House of Representatives, which was registered with the support of the majority of its members, the signatories of this statement include the majority of the representatives of 32 other legislative houses. The House of Commons and Lords of England, the House of Representatives and the Senate of Italy, the parliaments of Norway, Slovenia, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Costa Rica, Yemen, Jordan, and the senates of the Netherlands, Ireland and Yemen are among them.

More than 4,000 legislators state that “the Iranian regime holds the record for executions in proportion to the population in the world. In 1988 alone, with Supreme Leader Khomeini’s order to execute the MEK, 30,000 political prisoners were massacred within several weeks,” and adds, “The Iranian regime organized a show trial in absentia for 104 members of the opposition of the MEK who have been in Europe for years. It intends to lay the groundwork for terrorist acts by issuing fake orders and put pressure on Europe to limit the opposition, especially in Ashraf-3 in Albania.”

The legislators’ statement states that “the ruling religious dictatorship cannot be reformed. In the 2022 uprising, the people of Iran rejected any monarchical or religious dictatorship and demanded regime change to establish a democratic republic. Legislators from 81 parliaments have formulated their demands in five articles:

  1. We condemn the flagrant violations of human rights, particularly the suppression of women, and we call for the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre to be held accountable for ongoing crimes against humanity.
  2. The people of Iran deserve a democratic system. We urge all governments to support NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi’s ten-point plan for a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state and gender equality.
  3. We strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s actions against Iranian dissidents in Camp Ashraf-3, Albania, and we reaffirm their rights under the 1951 Geneva Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights.
  4. As the Iranian regime has blocked all political avenues for change, the free world must recognize the right of the Iranian people to rise up and the right of the MEK Resistance Units to confront the IRGC.
  5. We strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s destructive role in the Middle East and its belligerent policies. We call for the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist group and the implementation of oil sanctions on the regime.

The statement of more than 4000 parliamentarians from 50 countries of the world does not give the least excuse and legitimacy to continue the policy of appeasement and clearly shows that the time for dealing and negotiating with this regime has long passed. The only way to get rid of a religious dictatorship equipped with an atomic bomb was to overthrow this regime by the Iranian people and the Resistance. Therefore, supporting the National Council of Resistance of Iran and its president’s 10-point plan for the future of Iran and recognizing the right of the MEK Resistance Units in their fight against the IRGC is the need of the region and the world for peace, security, and tranquility.
