The Path to End the Mullahs’ Warmongering and Terrorism
Paris, November 27, 2024: In a significant gathering held at the Maison de la Chimie, the French Committee for a Democratic Iran organized a conference that brought together several members of the French National Assembly and Senate, along with prominent French figures. The event served as a platform for discussing the ongoing struggle for democracy in Iran and the urgent need for international support for the Iranian people’s resistance against oppression.
In her keynote address, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), emphasized the urgent need for regime change in Iran as a solution to the ongoing crises in the Middle East. Speaking to an audience that included prominent members of parliament and supporters of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Rajavi highlighted the critical support from French parliamentarians for the Iranian people’s struggle against oppression.
Maryam Rajavi pointed out that over 850 executions have occurred in Iran since the beginning of 2024, underscoring the dire human rights situation under the current regime. She asserted that the Iranian people, alongside their organized resistance, possess the capability to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.
She outlined several key components necessary for this change:
A Discontented Populace: Rajavi noted that a deeply dissatisfied Iranian population, led by Resistance Units and courageous women, is poised for an organized uprising.
The Role of PMOI/MEK: The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has been a significant force against both past and present dictatorships in Iran. Rajavi emphasized that Ashraf 3 in Albania serves as a vital center for this movement.
The NCRI’s Democratic Alternative: The NCRI represents a diverse coalition advocating for women’s rights, ethnic minority autonomy, and a secular government. Rajavi highlighted its commitment to abolishing the death penalty and promoting peace in the region.
International Support: Rajavi called attention to widespread international recognition of the NCRI’s 10-point plan for a democratic Iran, which has garnered support from numerous parliamentarians and former world leaders.
Restoration of Sovereignty: The NCRI aims not to seize power but to restore it to the Iranian people through a provisional government that will facilitate free elections.
Mrs. Rajavi firmly rejected claims that there is no alternative to the current regime, asserting that such assertions are falsehoods propagated by its supporters. She called upon France and other European nations to condition their relations with Iran on halting executions and recognizing the Iranian people’s right to resist oppression.
In conclusion, Rajavi’s address resonated with attendees as she reiterated her commitment to fighting for freedom and equality in Iran, urging international allies to support this vital cause against tyranny and injustice.
She said: The Iranian people and their Resistance call on France, the cradle of human rights, and all European nations to:
Predicate their relations with the belligerent religious fascism on the halt to executions in Iran.
Reactivate the ‘snapback’ mechanism and reinstate the six UN Security Council resolutions in response to the regime’s total violation of the nuclear agreement.
Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization within the European Union.
Support the rights and freedoms of the PMOI members in Ashraf 3 against the mullahs’ regime.
Recognize the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow this regime.
Acknowledge the legitimate fight of the Resistance Units against the IRGC.
