On January 9, 2025, a pivotal conference titled “Iran: Organized Resistance, Key to Overthrow” was held at the headquarters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Auvers-sur-Oise, France. The event brought together global voices united against Iran’s ruling regime, featuring powerful speeches by NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Messages of solidarity from members of Ashraf 3 in Albania highlighted the resilience and sacrifices of the Iranian Resistance, underscoring the unwavering determination to achieve a free and democratic Iran.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi opened the conference by welcoming attendees and reflecting on a year marked by the Iranian regime’s profound setbacks. She outlined the clerical regime’s struggles in 2024, including widespread boycotts of sham elections, escalating dissent, and the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, which she called “a clear reflection of the regime’s weakness.” Mrs. Rajavi emphasized the vital role of Resistance Units in mobilizing public support and inspiring confidence in the possibility of overthrowing a dictatorship, while calling on the international community to recognize the NCRI as the only viable alternative to the current regime. She reinforced her vision of a democratic Iran founded on gender equality, secular governance, and freedom.
Mike Pompeo painted a stark picture of the regime’s fragile state, describing its downfall as imminent. He pointed to the fall of the Assad regime as a precursor to the inevitable collapse awaiting Tehran. “The Ayatollah is finished; his time is complete,” Pompeo declared, lauding the courage and commitment of the Iranian Resistance. He specifically praised the MEK for its sacrifices and Mrs. Rajavi’s leadership, endorsing her 10-point plan for a democratic and non-nuclear Iran. Pompeo emphasized that the resistance seeks no foreign intervention but demands recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist oppression.
Messages from members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) at Ashraf 3 added emotional depth to the event. They shared personal stories of loss and perseverance, underscoring the human cost of the struggle against the regime. Former political prisoners and survivors of regime brutality spoke of the courage and hope that fuels the resistance, calling for continued international support.
