More than 350 international organizations, parliamentary committees, unions, municipalities, and political figures have expressed support for a major “Free Iran” rally set to take place in Berlin on February 7, 2026.
In a joint statement, the signatories voiced solidarity with the Iranian people’s nationwide protests and honored those who have lost their lives in the struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice. The gathering coincides with the anniversary of Iran’s 1979 revolution, which many supporters describe as a popular uprising for democracy later “betrayed” by the establishment of clerical rule.
A Rally Framed Around Rejection of Dictatorship
Organizers say the Berlin event will be held under the slogan “No Shah! No Sheikh!”, emphasizing opposition to both past and present forms of authoritarian rule in Iran. Another central message—“No foreign war, no appeasement—regime change by the Iranian people”—aims to spotlight what supporters describe as a grassroots movement for political change.
The statement highlights concerns over ongoing repression in Iran and calls for international attention to the demands of protesters.
Support for Democratic Principles
Backers of the rally say it supports key principles including human rights, gender equality, separation of religion and state, abolition of the death penalty, and recognition of the rights of ethnic nationalities. These goals are aligned with the Ten-Point Plan proposed by Iranian opposition figure Maryam Rajavi for a democratic future in Iran.
Signatories declared their “full support” for both the Berlin demonstration and what they describe as the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom.
Broad International Backing
The list of endorsing organizations spans Europe, North America, and Australia, including parliamentary networks, human rights groups, labor unions, and municipal authorities.
Among them are the International Committee In Search of Justice, the British Committee for Iran Freedom, the International Committee of Parliamentarians for a Democratic Iran, the National Association of Italian Partisans, the Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), the Peter Tatchell Foundation, the Edmund Rice Centre, Pax Christi Australia, and multiple Danish trade union federations.
Several municipalities in Italy—including Pesaro, Fano, Vallefoglia, Trinità, and Bastia Mondovì—also endorsed the statement, underscoring local government participation alongside civil society and political organizations.
Organizers say the February 7 rally in Berlin aims to draw global attention to the Iranian protest movement and demonstrate international solidarity with calls for democratic reform.
