Where Is Iran’s Oil Revenue Going?

In a meeting with a group of clerics in late March, Iranian regime president Ebrahim Raisi claimed that oil exports have reached pre-sanctions level and said, “The country was in a state that some officials said that if anyone manages to sell 200,000 barrels of oil, we will appoint him as the oil minister. But today, oil sales have returned to the levels before the sanctions and the revenue from oil sales is returning to the country.”

People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran – MEK IRAN YouTube channel has published an informative video on the plunder of Iran’s wealth resources, especially oil, due to widespread corruption in the mullahs’ regime.

“Resistance Economy” of the Iranian Regime at the Bottom of the World Economy Table

In Iran there is a monopoly on the economy, with extreme corruption, plundering, and broad-based perspectives on rent-seeking, which has proven two facts to date. Ordinary people are deliberately being forced into austerity; and on the other hand, the leaders of the clerical regime and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and its affiliates have become richer.

Iranian Regime to Blame for Iran’s Economic Freefall

As the working week began in Iran this week, currency exchange rates around the country caused great shock as the price for one U.S. dollar shot up from 300,000 rials to 310,000 rials within just a few hours. The cause of the sudden drop in the value of rial is suspected to be the unsuccessful talks in Vienna that were an attempt to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with the Iranian regime.

Iranian Regime Demands the Release of Frozen Money Abroad

With the current economic crises in Iran, the Iranian regime has been pressuring countries around the world, who have the regime’s money frozen in accounts, to release the money for immediate use. However, the question remains as to whether this money will be used to fund the regime’s malign activities or to help the Iranian people out of the crises.

The Destruction of Iran’s Economy Under the Mullahs’ Regime

There are many crises currently plaguing the Iranian economy, causing inflation, negative growth, and rising prices, which means that some 60 million Iranians are now stuck in poverty, with some of this being shown in the recent protests by farmers and ranchers over intense water shortages and the shortage and high cost of livestock feed.
