In recent days, Iran flash floods have swiftly swept 25 provinces of the country, leaving enormous casualties and damages<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without any doubt, the responsibility of the recent disaster, simultaneous with Iranian New Year, and Nowruz holidays<\/a> is on the corrupt and negligent clerical regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being\nlocated in a warm region at the northern hemisphere, Iran has been facing the\ncrisis of shortage of water and drought in recent years. So the question is why\nthis current course of raining has turned to flash floods nationwide ruining\npeople\u2019s lives and creating a national catastrophe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since\nflood is one of the most common natural disasters, there have been many delving\ninto it, and many countries allocate a proper amount of resources to control\nit. They have also taken measures to lessen their devastating effects.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in Iran under the rule of the corrupt despotic regime of the\nmullahs, plundering of natural resources, especially forests and pastures and\nruining the natural routes of water streams and turning them into roads or\nrailways to benefit trades, by mostly the IRGC elements, has turned a few days\nrain into devastating flash floods all over the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran flash floods; causes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few\ndays ago, shortly after precipitations and winds, flash floods in Iran\nsurprised people in many provinces and led to the loss of many lives and\ndamages; particularly in the highlands and mountainous regions. But the\nquestion is about the dimensions of damages despite the progress of meteorology\nknowledge and increasing the capability of forecasting the weather condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of\nthe main causes of floods in Iran is the destruction of nature by the\nRevolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the government-affiliated bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most important causes of recent Iran flash floods<\/a> are as follow:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The destruction of 30% of forests and 90%\nof vegetation and pastures which controlled the water flow in rainy days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Transforming the natural lands to\nagricultural lands and building luxurious villas on them, to the benefit of the\nregime\u2019s elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Nonstandard constructions on the riverbeds\nand riparian zones; such as the North Highway that made fundamental changes to\nits regional ecosystem. That plan was on the agenda just because of financial\nabuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Lack of levees and protective walls in flood\nbasin lands<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Lack of river dredging and accumulation of\nheavy and unnatural sediments behind the dams<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Lack of levees construction or not repairing\nthem, and lack of proper maintenance of the dams and flood-control reservoirs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Destruction of the natural water drainage\nlands because of selling their soil, nonstandard mining activities and, road\nand railway construction\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Rajavi calls for the creation of popular councils to deal with the flood and its catastrophic consequences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, renewed condolences to the affected people and called on the public to cooperate nationally to save the besieged people in flood, to find the missing and help the injured. She called on all people, especially the youth, to confront flood<\/a> and its catastrophic consequences by creating popular councils in each city, neighborhood and village as the only way to overcome the effects of a devastating flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Rajavi once again emphasized that the capabilities of the Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij, the army and government apparatus stolen from our people should be made available to the people in order to repair the destructions themselves and to prevent the spread of destruction.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
