While foreign reporters are not allowed to report on the areas which are demolished by Iran floods<\/a>, and the governmental organizations, practically, prevent popular aid to reach the flood victims, Javad Zarif complained about the lack of humanitarian assistance by the international community and considered it as the result of the US sanctions against the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Iran\u2019s regime hides scope of flood damages in fear of popular outrage<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n He tweeted: \u201cIranian Red Crescent can\u2019t receive any\nfunds due to illegal US sanctions\u201d and described the act as a case of\n\u201ceconomic terrorism\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But in the face of Zarif\u2019s rhetoric\u2019s, a few western countries including Norway, the United Kingdom, and the US have announced that they are ready to send humanitarian aid for the flood victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe United States stands ready to assist and contribute\nto the International Federation of Red Cross<\/a> and Red Crescent Societies, which\nwould then direct the money through the Iranian Red Crescent for relief,\u201d Pompeo\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a tweet posted on\nApril 2, Zarif claimed that Mr. Maurer (ICRC President) had told the UN Security Council that\nU.S. sanctions are preventing the Iranian Red Crescent from providing effective\nrelief assistance to the victims of two-week-long floods, which have brought\nunprecedented destruction to many regions in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Iran\u2019s official news\noutlet IRNA\u00a0published a dispatch\nfrom New York<\/strong>\u00a0saying that Maurer made his remarks at the UN Security\nCouncil in New York on April 1.
