Convention of the Rights of the Child perishes under the Iran regime rule\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1959 the\nUnited Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the\nChild. Iran regime signed the Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC) in\n1991 and ratified it in 1994.\u00a0 Aware of\nthe fact that any rights are in contradiction to its fundamentalist notion,\nupon ratification, Iran regime made a decisive precautionary reservation\nsaying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf the\ntext of the Convention is or becomes incompatible with the domestic laws and\nIslamic standards at any time or in any case, the Government of the Islamic\nRepublic shall not abide by it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since then,\nalthough Iran is bound by the Convention under international law, international\nhuman rights organizations and foreign governments have consistently criticized\nit for failing to uphold its obligations under the Convention on the Rights of\nthe Child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran regime has hit the\ninternational record of being condemned by international human rights\norganizations<\/a>. On Nov. 17, 2018, the United Nation General Assembly\u2019s 3rd committee adopted a\ndraft resolution that condemned the Iranian regime for its blatant human rights\nviolations. This was the 65th time that the Iranian regime was being called off\nfor its gross human rights violations at the international level, particularly\nwhen it comes to the violation of children\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Particularly, violation of convention of the Rights of the Child under the clerical regime in Iran is\nappalling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Violation of <\/strong>the Convention on the<\/strong> Rights of the Child in the regime\u2019s penal code is\ninstitutionalized: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to several independent international bodies including the UN\nSpecial Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran and Amnesty International, in\ngeneral, Iran regime is the leading state in number of executions per capita,\nonly second to China in terms of figures, and particularly, is in top in the\nnumber of executions of minors and juvenile and violating the convention of the\nRights of the Child. Amnesty International has recorded the execution of 97\nindividuals in Iran who were under the age of 18 at the time of the crime\nbetween 1990 and 2018. More than 90 others remain at risk of execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On April 29, 2019, Amnesty\nInternational<\/a> announced that two 17-year-old boys, convicted of rape\ncharges following an unfair trial, were flogged and secretly executed in Iran, while the use of the death penalty\nagainst people who were under 18 at the time of the crime is strictly\nprohibited under international human rights law and is a flagrant assault on\nthe convention of the Rights of the Child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nUS state department said it was \u201cappalled\u201d by the reports<\/a> and called it\n\u201cunacceptable\u201d.\u00a0 The US state department\nemphasized continuing to shine the light on the regime and asked others to join\nthem in holding Iran\u2019s corrupt leaders accountable for their crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The UN High\nCommissioner for Human Rights, Ms.\nMichelle Bachelet, condemned the execution of two 17-year-old boys in Iran<\/a>\nand called it \u201cdeplorable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The regime carries out merciless outlaw verdicts against juveniles while\nthe regimes\u2019 affiliated corrupt figures enjoy apparent impunity. In 2018, the\nscandal of acquittal of the well-known Quran reciter Mohammad Gandomzadeh Toosi<\/a>\n(Saeed Toosi) over charges of involving the sexual abuse of minors, by the\norder of the office of the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, incited outrage among\nthe Iranian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance<\/a> of Iran (NCRI), referred to the secret flogging and executions of two 17-year-old men in Shiraz, announced by Amnesty International, as a \u201cshocking crime violating Human Rights and against all humanitarian and Islamic principles and standards\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mrs. Rajavi stated that unannounced arrests and secret executions are a well-known practice of the clerical regime in Iran and a product of Khamenei\u2019s Judiciary, headed by the murderous cleric, Ebrahim Raisi, a death committee member in charge of the massacre of political prisoners in 1988.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Regarding the appalling violation of the convention of the rights of the\nchild, Mrs. Rajavi called on the civilized world, UN, UNSC, and UN Human Rights\nCouncil to condemn the atrocious killing of juveniles in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
