Widespread coverage of the MEK\/PMOI<\/a> rally in Stockholm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 20, supporters of MEK held a rally in Stockholm in support of uprisings in Iran and the overthrow of the mullahs\u2019 regime ruling Iran. The rally was widely covered by media outlets in western and Arab countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The National Council Of Resistance Of Iran (NCRI) have held demonstrations against the current regime in Iran in Brussels<\/a>, Washington<\/a>, Berlin<\/a> and Stockholm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally formed in 1981 by a group\nof Iranian dissidents opposing the Ayatollah Khomeini and the Islamic Republic\nthey came to prominence in the West in 2002 when they exposed Iran\u2019s nuclear\nprogram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0They advocate a transformation of Iran based on the abolition of the death penalty and creating a modern legal system with independent judges as part of Maryam Rajavi\u2019s Ten Point Plan<\/a> for Future Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>: The European Union should list Beyt Khamenei, the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) as the main center of oppression and terrorism on the list of terrorist organizations and put a comprehensive sanction on them<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An another report about the MEK\/PMOI rally in Stockholm, Albanian news outlet 7dnews<\/a> wrote: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of Iranians took to the\nstreets of Stockholm on July 20th demanding that the European Union becomes\nmore resolute over Iranian regime policies, represented by the Revolutionary\nGuards (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) as they are \u201cthe main\ncentres of suppression and terrorism\u201d, the National Council of Resistance of\nIran (NCRI) reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close to 5,000 protestors massed in\nthe Kungt\u00e4rg\u00e5rden Square, followed by a march towards Stockholm centre\ndemostrating their full support for the Democratic Iranian Opposition People\u2019s\nMojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Rajavi is the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a> and her ten-point plan to restore Iran from the Mullah\u2019s regime is supported by the demonstrators.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demonstrators strongly denounced\n\u201cany relationship with or promotion of the mullahs\u2019 regime and called on\nEuropean governments to prosecute, punish, and expel intelligence agents and\nterrorist Quds force mercenaries,\u201d NCRI reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajavi urged the European Union\nunder the Finnish Presidency to list the main centres of repression and\nterrorism, namely; \u201cKhamenei\u2019s Beyt\u201d, the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and\nthe Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS), as terrorist entities. The want the EU to\nimpose comprehensive sanctions, to prosecute, punish and expel the mercenaries\nof the regime.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demonstration is the fourth such\nevent to take place in less than a month. The last big gathering was in Berlin\nand massed more than 15000 people on July 6th, Iran Focus website\nreported.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposition has been at its peak\nof activity over the last week. Five days of consecutive meetings held by the\nopposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People\u2019s\nMojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Albania in which several hundred\nWestern as well as Arab dignitaries took part has had a tangible impact on the\nongoing events, with people no less than Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor\nand personal lawyer of the US president Donald Trump calling for regime change\nin Iran. Former prime ministers and foreign ministers of France, Canada and\nAlgeria called the world to put an end to what they called a \u201cpolicy of\nappeasement\u201d towards the regime in power in Iran.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rama Yade, the former Minister of\nHuman Rights of France gave a speech in the protest gathering, in which she\nreferred to the 5-day congress of resistance in Ashraf 3, the headquarters of\nthe People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK or PMOI) in Albania. \u201cThis\ncity was built in less than two years, in the middle of nowhere. You have\nproved through that amazing master work in Ashraf 3 that the same could one day\nbe done in Iran,\u201d Yade said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High profile political figures gave\nspeeches at the PMOI headquarters in Albania including: Magnus Oscarsson of the\nSwedish Parliament; Senator Lucio Malan of the Italian Senate; Senator Gerald\nMichael Horkan and former Minister John Perry of Ireland; Edward Julius Solens,\nformer Minister of the Environment of Iceland; Kimmo Sasi, former minister and\nparliamentarian from the Finnish Parliament.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
