MEK \/ PMOI<\/a>\u00a0Free\u00a0Iran rally in Albania<\/a>\u2013 Judge Ted Poe former Member of the U.S. Congress supported MEK and\u00a0Maryam Rajavi\u2019s plan for a free and democratic Iran<\/a>\u2013 July 13, 2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: Thank you\nvery much. I am Ted Poe from the state of Texas and a former member of the\nUnited States Congress. I am here with my friends, Dana Rohrbacher and Lance\nGooden from the United States. Dana Rohrbacher from California, and Lance from\nthe state of Texas. A few years ago, when I was serving on the foreign affairs\ncommittee, Dana Rohrbacher was chairman of the European subcommittee, we went\nto Iraq. And the reason we went to Iraq was to go to Camp Ashraf and see the\natrocities that were taking place. Because the Iraqi government and the Iranian\ngovernment had denied those atrocities war taking place. We came to visit you.\nAnd when we got to Iraq and we talked to Maliki, he got irate. He said, \u201cYou\ncannot go to Camp Ashraf. You are forbidden to go to Camp Ashraf.\u201d In fact, he\ngot so mad that he ordered us out of his country. We couldn\u2019t believe it. We\nwere evicted from Iraq because we wanted to see you. But now, we are here. And\nwe do get to see you, you folks in Camp Ashraf. Thank you for letting us visit\nwith you and thank you for your endurance over all of these years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: You know,\nthe cynics, the critics, always have been criticizing you.\u00a0 The Ayatollah, the mullahs, they said you\nwould never last in Camp Ashraf 1, but you did, and you made that a paradise in\nthe desert for freedom. And then they said you would not last in Camp Liberty,\nwhich was a dungeon, but you made it another parasite for freedom. And they\nsaid you would never be able to leave and yet because of our Albanian friends\nyou were allowed to come to Camp Ashraf 3 and make it a paradise in the desert.\nWell, there\u2019s going to be a Camp Ashraf 4, and I hope that will be the last\none. Because it\u2019s going to be in Tehran where all of us will be together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: The cynics\nand the critics criticized members of Congress that supported the freedom\nfighters, supported Madame Rajavi. And when I was chairman of the terrorism\ncommittee, I wanted to have Madame Rajavi testify. All the bureaucrats were jumping\nout the windows. \u201cYou can\u2019t have Madame Rajavi testify. It\u2019s not proper. It\u2019s\nnot appropriate. She cannot come to the United States and testify.\u201d Well, we\nworked out some of the details. And it\u2019s true, she did not go to the United\nStates. She didn\u2019t have to. Because her testimony was on satellite and she did\ntestify before the terrorism subcommittee. And thank you for that. They said it\ncouldn\u2019t be done but she made the case, the case for freedom. The case for the\nMEK. The case for delisting the MEK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: And of\ncourse, the State Department, our State Department, oh they were so upset. \u201cWe\ncannot delist the MEK.\u201d First of all, it was a mistake for the United States to\never put the MEK on the terrorist list. But I filed legislation, House Resolution\n60, to delist the MEK, joined by Democrats and Republicans on the Foreign\nAffairs committee. It was filed. Not long after, because of a lawsuit filed by\nthe MEK, a federal judge in the United States ordered the State Department to\ndelist the MEK and the MEK is delisted, as it should be. It\u2019s not a terrorist\norganization. And how ironic is it that the MEK now is not on the terrorist\nlist but the Iranian government and the IRGC, they are both terrorist\norganizations, both of them. Thank you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: And let me\nsay this about Madame Rajavi. When she testified and made the case for freedom\nfor Iran, I was impressed and others were impressed. And she reminded me of\nsomething my grandmother told me when I was a little kid. My grandmother tried\nto make things simple for me to understand. You know, I\u2019m from Texas, it\u2019s got\nto be simple. And she said, \u201cRemember this: there is nothing more powerful than\na woman that has made up her mind.\u201d And that woman is Madame Rajavi. She has\nmade up her mind for freedom for all y\u2019all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: Yesterday\u2014they\nlimited my time so I gotta keep going. Yesterday, Tom Ridge spoke about the\nfact that all of us in the world and in all of history are given by God with\ncertain rights. We get them from God, not from government. And he mentioned\nthose in the Declaration of Independence, life, liberty, and pursuit of\nhappiness.\u00a0 Those are three rights but\nthere is another right that is mentioned in the Declaration Ted Poe: of Independence\nthat all peoples have. Thomas Jefferson further wrote that governments are\ninstituted among people to secure those rights of life, liberty the pursuit of\nhappiness. And if governments don\u2019t do that, the people have the right to alter\nor abolish that government. It is the right of the people to abolish a\ntyrannical government like the mullahs have in Iran. I used to be a judge long\ntime ago. And when the mullahs are all captured and tried for war crimes, I\nwant Rudy Giuliani to be the prosecutor in my court to try the mullahs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ted Poe: But what\u2019s\nthe evidence? What\u2019s the evidence that they have forfeited the right to govern\nthe people of Iran? Well, how about 120,000 murders of Iranian people? How\nabout the attacks in Camp Ashraf and Ashraf 2. How about the attacks that they\nwanted to have on you here in Albania? How about the assassination attempts?\nHow about the fact that this terrorist organization is operating every where\nthere is trouble in the world there you will see a terrorist organization, the\nIRGC, whether it\u2019s in Yemen, whether it\u2019s in Lebanon, whether it\u2019s in Syria,\nwhether it\u2019s in South America, whether it\u2019s ships at sea in international\nwaters being attacked, whether it\u2019s aircraft in international airspace being\nattacked, you will see the mullahs and the IRGC. They have forfeited the right\nto rule the people of Iran. They are guilty of high crimes. They are guilty of\nmurder on the high seas and against their people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the mullahs.\nDon\u2019t fear the mullahs. Don\u2019t let them cause you to not be able to sleep at\nnight. It is important that the mullahs fear you and you keep them awake at\nnight. And I think that is what is taking place now; you keep them awake. You\nspeak, you speak for the voices that have been silenced by the murders that\nhave taken place against them. And their voices cry out through you for justice,\nfor justice. And justice demands that the people of Iran, the people that are\nthere and the people that are listening in Iran, they rule their own country.\nAnd that the illegitimate regime of the mullahs, it must go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of you know,\nand personal note and I\u2019m through, just a personal note and I\u2019m through. Not\nlong ago, I was diagnosed with leukemia. And tough battle occurred.\u00a0 Thanks to the prayers of many of you here the\nAlmighty has taken care of that and I am here to continue to fight for you. But\nleukemia\u2019s a cancer. Many of you have had cancer before, your families have had\ncancer. You cannot ignore cancer. It doesn\u2019t just go away. The regime in Tehran\nis a cancer. It is not going to go away on its own. You must fight it. We must\nall fight it.\u00a0 The world will be safer;\nthe people of Iran will be safer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And as Madame Rajavi\nhas said in the past, when you have a serpent, a snake, you must cut off the\nhead of the snake. And I\u2019m here to tell you that the lion with the sword is\ngoing to but off the head of the serpent so that there will be freedom in\nTehran. Some things are worth living for and some things are worth dying for\nand I can think of no greater cause for any of us than to live and die, if\nnecessary, for freedom.
