And the phrase or the concept that I want to discuss\nwith you is called set the conditions for success. The United States military,\nany time we undertake a major operation or a major undertaking, we attempt to\nset the conditions for success to ensure we will have mission accomplishment. And those young people will be checking their devices\ntwice a day to see which nations have expressed their support. So it\u2019s\nabsolutely critical in my mind, in fact you may be saving lives by helping to\ninfluence your government to support those young people and the cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe\nas I stand here today that you must do more in Iran to secure a probability for\nsuccess. You must somehow convince the Iranian Army of what you\u2019re doing is the\nright thing. History will show that where revolutions are attempted and the\nArmy supports the government, they\u2019re crushed. History will also show that\nwhere the Army turns or the Army fails to act, most of those revolutions will\nsucceed. Your own history with the Shah shows that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gen James Conway: \u00a0Wer\u2019e watching today in Venezuela, which way\nwill the army go? Will that leader survive or will he fall? It will be\ndetermined by the army. On that fateful day when the young people of Iran rise\nup in that next major uprising, frankly the strength of the NCRI will not be\nenough. Your units of resistance will not be enough. The incredible leadership\nof Madame Rajavi and the magnificence of the 10-point plan will not be enough\nif the army opposes you. Now the Revolutionary Guard will never turn. The navy\nand the air force don\u2019t have the power. But if you can convince the lieutenants\nof your cause and ensure that the majors don\u2019t fire on your people in the\nstreets and counsel the colonels and the generals that they will be held\naccountable for their actions, then I think you have a major chance of success.\nAnd when you do, the world will be a much better place with a free Iran.
