I salute dear Mrs. Rajav<\/a>i, and welcome our distinguished guests <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Majid Saheb-Jam, I spent 17 years in\nprison. My\ncrime was supporting <\/p>\n\n\n\n

the MEK<\/a>. I witnessed many human rights violations, tortures and violation of basic <\/p>\n\n\n\n

human rights conventions in the Iranian prisons.\nIn this short time, I would like to <\/p>\n\n\n\n

refer to one the darkest eras in the 40-year rule\nof the religious fascism, which is <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian regime committed this crime, it was a\npremeditated and well-planned, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

they formed a death commission, with [Hossein\nAli] Nayeri, who is now one of the <\/p>\n\n\n\n

the massacre\nof the MEK prisoners in 1988 at the order of Khomeini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

regime\u2019s top judiciary official, Ebrahim Raisi, current\nhead of the Judiciary and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Mostafa] Pour Mohammadi, a top judiciary\nofficial, and carried-out this crime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until today the regime has done everything to\ncover up this genocide, and refrains <\/p>\n\n\n\n

from giving\ninformation on the victims\u2019 whereabouts to their families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this massacre, after verifying the\nprisoner\u2019s identity, the death commission <\/p>\n\n\n\n

only asked one question that decided the\nprisoner\u2019s fate. This conversation took <\/p>\n\n\n\n

between 4 \u2013\n5 minutes. I\u2019ll refer to some examples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massoud Naseri was paralyzed and was bedridden.\nThe executioners took him to <\/p>\n\n\n\n

the death commission; when they asked him of his\ncharges he said, \u201cI am supporter <\/p>\n\n\n\n

of the MEK.\u201d He was directly taken to the gallows\nand his paralyzed body was <\/p>\n\n\n\n

hanged. Mohsen Mohammad Bagher, was an MEK\nsupporter. He was paralyzed <\/p>\n\n\n\n

from birth, therefore he played a role in a\nfamous movie and was a well-known <\/p>\n\n\n\n

person, but he was executed for persisting in\nsupporting the MEK. He was executed <\/p>\n\n\n\n

as a symbol\nof resistant artists, but with an iron leg and crutch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political prisoners were tortured during\ninterrogations, and they suffered from severe physical and psychological\nconsequences. The 1988 massacre was an opportunity for the regime to hide the\nevidence of its horrible crimes. Jafar Semsar-Zadeh and Iraj Mohammadi are two\nexamples. Another heart-breaking catastrophe in this massacre was the story of\nfamilies who lost at least two children. I know at least 20 families who had\nthe same fate. For example, Hamid Khezri was executed days after his brother\nAsghar, because both declined to abandon the word Mojahed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I now refer to those MEK members who were under\nthe age of 18, sometimes 14 or 15. They spent years in the regime\u2019s prison. The\nregime denies the execution of minors, but hundreds of these juveniles were\nmassacred in 1988, such as Ardalan Dar-Afarin, Bagher Ghand-Harish, Reza\nGholami and dozens of other juveniles who were hanged but refused to give up\ntheir cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion I would like to refer to another\nimportant point. During the massacre there were dozens of the MEK supporters\nwho had served their sentences, but since they refused to renounce their\nconnection to the MEK, and persisted in their cause, were executed during the\n1988 massacre. I know the names of 70 of them, who stood until the end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, this is just a small part of the resistance\nof the Iranian people who gave their lives and stayed loyal to humanitarian\ncauses, values and human dignity and now we convey their salutations to the\nselfless leaders of the MEK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always loved to read a poem for Mrs. Rajavi,\nnow I\u2019ll read a poem. The poet was executed in the 1988 massacre. He spent\nyears in prison and in 1987, since we thought he was about to be released we\nheld a small celebration during which he read this poem that he wrote himself\nabout the years he spent in prison. He didn\u2019t know that I\u2019ll read his poem 30\nyears after at your presence, this time for himself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the old witch spreads the seeds of death on the plains\nof our country<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And imprisons pretty flowers because they have blossomed in\nthe land of tyranny<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I witnessed how the enchained flowers, in their secret\nmeetings, where one can only see and hear with love and passion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw them sing that we will live<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because life is a cause and a struggle, so we will always\nlive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was hanged, and today, others continue his path because\nlife is a cause and struggle<\/p>\n\n\n\n
