International support for the Iran protests\nis growing. At the end of the 19th consecutive day of the Iran protests, which\nhave now spread to 189 cities across the country, it is believed that at least 1000\nprotesters are dead, 4,000 have been injured, and over 12,000 are arrested,\nfacing torture and execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the waning of the internet shutdown,\ndesigned to hides the protests and the regime\u2019s crackdown from the international community, we are\nlearning more about the tragic abuses that took place across the country, like\nthe massacre in Mahshahr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There the regime\u2019s security forces killed\nmore than 100 people who were blocking access to a road leading to the port,\nwith eyewitnesses reporting that the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC<\/a>)\nbrought a special forces brigade armed with tanks, armoured personnel carriers\nand helicopters. The forces even turned on people who fled into the marshes and\npeople who hadn\u2019t attended the protests, including two children aged 4 and 8,\nand a woman in the 70s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The continued crackdown has sparked\ncondemnation across the world and international support for the Iran protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representative Elliot Engel<\/a>, Chair of the US House Foreign\nAffairs Committee, said in a statement: \u201cI condemn the Iranian\ngovernment\u2019s violent crackdown on its own citizens and stand with those who are\nprotesting peacefully. I also condemn the continued use of censorship and\nregime-enforced internet blackouts to limit free and open communication.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
