The\nsystematic violation of human rights in Iran<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the\noccasion of World Human Rights Day, we condemen the violation of human rights\nin Iran perpetrated by the bloody crackdown on demonstrators and the massacre\nof political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than\n4,000 people, including 94 women and several minors, were hanged during\nRouhani\u2019s presidency. During the five days of repression in November, more than\n600 people were killed, 4,000 wounded and more than 12,000 arrested. Protesters\nprotested against repression and high prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time has\ncome for the international community, especially the European Union, to side\nwith the people of Iran. European governments must immediately condemn arrests\nand massacres of prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-five\u00a0days have\u00a0passed\u00a0since\u00a0the nationwide Iran protests\u00a0began\u00a0for regime\nchange. A major gasoline price hike\u00a0triggered\nprotests\u00a0on November 15. But the protests quickly turned political and\u00a0targeted\u00a0the\u00a0entirety\u00a0of the\nreligious dictatorship\u00a0ruling Iran,\u00a0led by Supreme Leader Ali\u00a0Khamenei<\/a>\u00a0and President Hassan Rouhani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
