In a message, on December 15, Maria Eugenia Barna, Member of the Romanian Parliament, expressed her support and solidarity with the\u00a0nationwide Iran protests<\/a>\u00a0and the Iranian resistance movement, the People\u2019s\u00a0 Mojahedin Organization<\/a>\u00a0of Iran (PMOI, MEK) and the National Council of\u00a0 Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>). He also urged the international community to choose a firm policy vis-a-vis the Iranian regime\u2019s deadly crackdown on protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is the full text of Mrs.\u00a0<\/em> Maria Eugenia Barna\u2019s message.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m Maria Eugenia\nBarna, member of the Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for Free Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since\nmid-November this year, you Iranians have taken to the streets to protest\nagainst the rise in petrol prices, and since the first hours of the\ndemonstration chanted slogans against the leaders of the religious fascist\nregime, and you declared your desire to establish a democratic republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oppressive forces clashed with demonstrators, killing\nhundreds and injuring and arresting thousands. This regime is inherently\nanti-democratic because the people of Iran have not elected its leaders. We are\nconcerned about the health of the injured and fear for the life of detainees\nand call for their unconditional release.
\nWe condemn the killing of the protesters who were\nshot on close range in the head and, and we are calling on this as a crime\nagainst humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maria Eugenia\nBarna: We demand that the international community, especially the European\nUnion, exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime. You have to force this\nregime to stop repressions inside and stop it from exporting terrorism abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maria\nEugenia Barna: The world heard the voice of the Iranian people. It is up to the\nworld to hold the Iranian regime accountable. You Iranians have an ancient\nhistory and civilization, and you deserve a democratic government. And so\ncontinue your protests until the mullahs are overthrown. We support you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Rajavi underscored that the slaughter of the protesters is undoubtedly a manifest case of crime against humanity and urged the United Nations Security Council, governments and the international community to bring about an immediate halt to the killings and suppression, and secure the release of those detained.
