General Italian Confederation<\/a> of\nLabour-CGIL, with more than 5 million members in province of Pesaro and Urbino,\nItaly, announced its solidarity with the Iran protests in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Italian Confederation<\/a> of\nLabour-CGIL\u2019s statement<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s theocratic regime\nhas been in power for 40 years and these days has responded violently to\npeaceful protests organized by Iranian workers and citizens. The regime has\nresorted to outright repression to quell the rightful protests of thousands of\nIranians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protesters came to the\nstreets peacefully to protests gas price hikes and subsistence wages that was\ntaken from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports by\ninternational human rights agencies and associations, including Amnesty\nInternational:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds have been killed\nand thousands have been injured and thousands have been arrested and will be\ntried in a court with a judge from the regime itself.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Italian Confederation<\/a> of\nLabour-CGIL, in the cities of Pesaro and Urbino provinces, proves its support\nfor the workers and students and all Iranian citizens who have taken part in\nrecent Iran protests demanding their rights and sympathizes with their struggle\nfor freedom and democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We call on the Iranian\ngovernment to put an end to the suppression and killing as soon as possible and\nlet the EU and the UN follow this situation because they are both experienced\nand specialized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
