Human Rights abuses continue in Iran<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian regime is in a desperate position. After the death of Qassem Soleimani<\/a> of the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps\u2019 (IRGC) Quds Force, the regime\u2019s isolation has become more and more evident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the regime has continued to suppress the people of Iran to intimidate them into submission and silence. It is also continuing to execute people, even for minor crimes, and is still handing out medieval forms of punishment. In another word it has increased its Human Rights abuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the city of Shahreza in central Iran, a man who was accused of theft was flogged in public. According to the prosecutor, the man aged twenty-three was flogged in a square in the city. He is said to have been flogged 74 times<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A local new publication said that the man\nhad been stealing from shops and private residences for a number of years. The\npublication also published a photo of the flogging that showed the man being\ntied to a structure while people looked on in horror. \u00a0This is a clear sign of regime\u2019s Human Rights\nabuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local officials commented that the\nauthorities have been trying to keep the city secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cruel punishments like amputations are very\ncommon. Many people have been amputated in recent years for theft and the\nIranian regime takes no heed of international laws and obligations that forbid\nit from taking such action. The regime is party to the International Covenant\non Civil and Political Rights in which it is expressly stated that torture,\ninhumane, degrading and cruel treatment and punishments are strictly forbidden.\nYet, it has been increasing its Human Rights abuses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people of Iran are getting poorer and\npoorer because of the regime\u2019s poor economic decisions, its corruption and its\nmismanagement. It is therefore no surprise that theft is rampant in the country\nas many people are living in absolute poverty. However, the people must be\nprotected from the regime that ignores human rights regulations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people want change and they know that\nthis is only possible when the regime collapses. They want to be granted the\nhuman rights that they have been denied for decades. And the main opposition to\nthe regime is ready to ensure this happens. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
