On January 3, the US took out Iranian regime terrorist Qasem Soleimani, but this is not the end for Iran\u2019s terrorism. In fact, his position as Commander in Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps\u2019 (IRGC) <\/a>Quds Force, was soon taken over by his deputy of 20 years Esmail Ghaani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esmail Ghaani, 62, has spent many years\nactively repressing the Iranian people, at the same time as helping the Iranian\nregime to aggressively expand across the Middle East. He rose through the ranks\nquickly after helping to crush the Kurdish uprising in 1979, just after the\nmullahs took power in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, whilst Soleimani\nwas involved in the regime\u2019s proxy wars in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq,\nGhaani was tasked with supporting terrorist militias in Pakistan, Afghanistan\nand Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esmail Ghaani earned his place on America\u2019s\nterrorism blacklist in 2012 after sending 13 shipping containers full-on 107mm\nKatyusha rockets, rifle ammunition and other weapons to the Gambia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly afterwards, his focus was centred\non the Middle East, where he conducted a genocidal campaign against innocent Sunni\ncivilians in Iraq while claiming to be fighting ISIS. He was also closely\ninvolved in the regime\u2019s proxy wars in Yemen and Syria, resulting in the deaths\nof hundreds of thousands of civilians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Straight after Soleimani\u2019s funeral, Esmail Ghaani\nmet with Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, his deputy Saleh al-Arouri, and other\nHamas members. Iran has supplied Hamas\u2019s military wing with training, financial\nsupport and weapons since at least 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ghaani said: \u201cWe promise to continue down\nthe martyr Soleimani\u2019s path as firmly as before with the help of God and in\nreturn for his martyrdom we aim to get rid of America from the region.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is likely that he supervised the launch\nof 20 missiles targeting two American military bases in Iraq on January 7 as\nrevenge for Soleimani\u2019s death. Luckily, there were no casualties and limited\ndamage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Struan Stevenson is the Coordinator of the\nCampaign for Iran Change (CiC), wrote<\/a>:\n\u201cWe can be certain that all is not well in Iran. Ghaani will assuredly now be\nengaged in detailed planning for a major terrorist outrage. He will be keen to\nshow Iran\u2019s supreme leader that he is a worthy successor to Soleimani and his\nonly credible way of doing that will be by executing an act of unspeakable\nhorror against the enemies of the Islamic Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
