Iran needs world\u2019s help to tackle COVID-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian regime chose to keep the\ncoronavirus outbreak in their country a secret, refused to take the necessary\npreventive measures for containing the virus and instead increased security to\ncontain any protests that could have broken out over their reckless and selfish\ndecision that has led to 1300 deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)\u00a0<\/a>reported that, as of Thursday, 1,500 people<\/a> had died from the virus, with 300 deaths in Qom, the epicentre of Iran\u2019s outbreak. The reason that the virus has spread across the country and to other countries so fast is that the regime covered up the initial outbreak, so no one was able to take the precautions they needed to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regime didn\u2019t even cancel flights between Iran and China, even after admitting that the COVID-19 had hit Iran. Many countries banned travel to and from China after the initial outbreak, but now neighbouring countries, like Bahrain, and even some further afield, like Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and Canada, have been banning flights to and from Iran after people coming from the Gulf nation brought coronavirus to their shores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is\nattempting to downplay the crisis, calling<\/a>\nit a \u201cblessing\u201d, \u201cnot such a big catastrophe\u201d, and a \u201cpassing issue\u201d,\nwhile claiming that the regime has been keeping people informed and accusing\nother countries of lying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of\nthe\u00a0National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), responded:\u00a0\u201cThe\nonly thing that matters for this regime and its officials is to keep their grip\non power. People\u2019s lives, health, and resources have no value for the ruling\nmullahs. The Iranian people have suffered the greatest damage and losses under\ntheir rule, as a result of external wars, domestic repression, poverty,\nunemployment, and illnesses.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even regime officials like\nMasoud\u00a0Pezeshkian, first deputy speaker of regime\u2019s parliament, are\nadmitting to the crisis and saying that coronavirus should not have been\ntreated so lightly. He said the regime should have quarantined Qom during the\ninitial outbreak and that the figures being reported for deaths and infections\nare not accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the regime is next to useless, the\ninternational community should help the people tackle this crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajavi\u00a0 said: \u201cThe United Nations,\nWorld Health Organization, and other international human rights organizations\nmust compel the religious fascism ruling Iran to make public all the facts and\nfigures regarding COVID-19 and provide them to relevant international\norganizations in order to save the lives of the people of Iran and other\ncountries in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
