US Senate conference on human rights in\nIran held by OIAC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organization of Iranian American Communities<\/a> , OIAC, \u00a0held a conference on human rights in Iran in the US Senate to mark the Iranian New Year (Nowruz). The conference focused heavily on the coronavirus, which has now killed over 3,600 people in all of Iran\u2019s provinces, and the regime\u2019s inability to solve the crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cThe Iranian people are willing to\ndefy the regime and take brave and courageous steps to build a real democracy,\none that represents their interests and respects their dignity. The only\nconclusion I can draw is that this sham election, without even the pretence of\nfairness, is a sign of the regime\u2019s weakness, not its strength.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a> and its President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a> are the \u201cviable democratic alternative\u201d to the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrs. Rajavi sent a video message<\/a> to the conference and condemned the regime\u2019s secrecy over the coronavirus, which was designed to make the mullahs look strong and stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi sent a video message to the event at the U.S. Senate<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
She said: \u201cThe consequences are not limited\nonly to Iran. They have caused the spread of the virus to several countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rajavi advised that the Iranian people\ncorrectly blame the regime for this situation and the rest of their woes, as\nshown in the November 2019 uprising. She said the mullahs\u2019 secrecy is because\nthey know the regime is on the verge of overthrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
