Each year, the Iranian opposition group\u202fthe\u00a0 People\u2019s\u00a0Mojahedin<\/a>\u00a0Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK),\u00a0holds a rally to promote freedom and democracy in Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rally, which\u00a0is often attended\u00a0by hundreds of thousands of people, highlights that the only way to achieve this is through regime change by and for the people of Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian people and their organized resistance have to (and will soon) overthrow the mullahs and allow the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which currently serves as the parliament in exile, to take over for a temporary period of six months to arrange free and fair elections.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honor of the upcoming Free Iran rally<\/a> on July 17,\u00a0held virtually because of the\u00a0coronavirus\u00a0pandemic<\/a>,\u00a0we\u2019re looking back at one of our favorite speeches from last year in the\u00a0MEK\u2019s\u00a0Albanian headquarters of\u00a0Ashraf\u00a03<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the speech of General James Conway, a former Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, on Saturday,\u00a0July 13<\/a>, 2019, on the fourth day of events.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conway\u2019s\u00a0speech<\/a>\u00a0focused on the future of Iran and how to \u201cset the conditions for success\u201d, which is something that the US military does before undertaking a mission to ensure they accomplish what they set out to.\u00a0This, he said, would mean that we\u00a0will\u00a0see a Free Iran sooner, rather than later. There is, after all, no doubt that we will see a Free Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
