Philipe Gosselin, Member of French National Assembly, Vice President of CPID Committee spoke at the Online Global Summit for a Free Iran<\/a> which took place on July 17. Given the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) held its latest summit virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This annual gathering of the Iranian Resistance linked the voices for freedom from 30,000 locations in Iran and more than 100 countries, especially in Albania, to the city of the Iranian resistance at Ashraf-3. A thousand political leaders<\/a>, parliamentarians, and religious<\/a> and cultural figures from around the world participated.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is the speech of Mr. Gosselin:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike all the French<\/a>\u00a0MPs\u00a0who are members of the French Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran (CPID) I believe in a free Iran<\/a>, a democratic Iran, a respected Iran, an Iran where it would, at last, have a good life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Iran is not only the Iran of my dreams, or yours, but above all it is the one you have been working on, ardently, and with so much fervor for years!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago, in June 2018<\/a>, I was present at the large gathering in\u00a0Villepinte. Already, like others, I denounced the abuses of the mullahs\u2019 regime. An attack<\/a> was foiled the same day, which targeted us collectively. A diplomat <\/a>was arrested abroad. France itself expelled another\u00a0in\u00a0Paris.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrested diplomat will soon be tried by the competent court in Belgium.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these ties maintained by Iran demonstrate, if need be, the ambiguities of the regime in place, making Tehran a state which can be classified, regretfully, among terrorist states. Yes, the current regime is a\u00a0merciless\u00a0religious dictatorship, which recent events underline with even more force:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 The assassination, that is the apt term, of 1,500 demonstrators<\/a> during the\u00a0uprisings\u00a0of November 2019<\/a>,\u00a0
\u2013 like the crash of an airliner hit by\u00a0IRGC<\/a>\u00a0missiles in early 2020 and the deaths of 176 innocent passengers.\u00a0
\u2013 not to mention tens of thousands of deaths due to mismanagement of the\u00a0Covid\u00a0\u2026\u00a0
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are all markers of a regime that continues to survive by terror, also swallowing up huge budgets in the ballistic and nuclear fields.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than ever, the time has come for France and for Europe as a whole to turn the page!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
